Thanks, Mark! Looks like a nice design, and Made in USA doesn't hurt it at all. I'm going to be taking a look at the web site and see if there's anything I can't resist - maybe a Christmas present for myself!
G'day Mark, as soon as I hear "activated carbon" element, (or equivalent tech), you've got my attention. As much as I dig the Grayl, this one is a better design again i.e. no plunge ...... amongst other things. Incidentally, with this design, no reason I can see why you couldn't drink straight out of a water supply with just the tube and filter ...... if it came to that for some reason. Only thing left to do is check out the liter capacity of the element and replacement cost. Cheers Duke. P.S. I did find the capacity in the description, thanks mate. P.P.S good website @ fair prices IMO. Btw the bulk pack of replacement filters are currently out of stock. Though there is a 20% two pack discount, @ the capacity, I reckon that will do me ; ) P.P.P.S they do ....... do international shipping.
Very intuitive web site. I would like to see an option for two everywhere bottle filters in place of the AC filter and a single wall SS or Titanium bottle. I will order one.
I just stumbled across a fairly recent video about plastic leaching into water, most especially in hot conditions. Unfortunately, nearly every water carrer and filter component is made from plastic. Made in USA is slightly more reassuring than made in China, but plastics, microplastics, leaching, etc. are concerns, though I occasionally think about my EDC Chinese made stainless steel bottle possibly leaching heavy metals into my water. Is glass necessarily 100% safe? I'm glad that I can put these concerns on the "back shelf," because I have to live within the realm of reality. Now, that looks like a very handy water bottle, and thanks again for your thoughtful analysis. 👍
Microplastics is a real issue for sure. The Nalgene Triton bottles should be safe. If any plastics did make it into the water, the filter would catch them. Thanks for commenting
Oh, btw, Mark: I made my own Swig Rig style system for a LASH of 275 miles on the Appalachian Trail in 2021 out of a one pound peanut jar and some old hydration hose and a bite valve that were laying around. I had the grommet from a Nalgene 1 quart bottle top (threads not the same as a peanut jar), and I simply drilled a hole in the peanut jar cap which would accept the grommet. My rig used the hard plastic tube which came with the Nalgene (gravity feed, initially) top, and a short length of flexible tubing to which I affixed the bite valve. I wonder if early 2021 predates the Swig Rig release, and if someone who saw my "Rig" was inspired to commercialize it. 🤔
@@danielkutcher5704 , these water bottles are not for long-term storage. They are for getting water, purifying it, drinking it. I think we can all relax a bit about the possibility of plastics leaching into our water when it's in there for such a short period of time.

Water is life. It's always good to find a product that's been tested by a trusted source. AND made in the USA? Fantastic!

I agree. I have more use for the everywhere filter as well. Thanks for commenting
