    i like how you could theoretically keep some marshmallows on the guard while you roast one on the end. cool project, I enjoyed watching it.

      They never built anything remotely as tidy as that build, if you actually look at artefacts they are quite often poorly finished even for high end blades etc made for royalty

    Beautiful build Will! I know it gets frustrating working on the small things, but it's worth it when you do it right. You have a dedication to your work that makes everything you work on that much better. Happy Blade Show!

    Hey Will! Been watching you since you did videos with Alec. Just wanted to say how impressed I am with the progress and development in your videos and your craft/trade. Glad there are some great examples, like you, of work ethic and creativity out there for current and new gens to find here on youtube.

    That feeling you describe, getting less and less excited about a project as it goes on and as delays happen. That happens to everyone I think. But the thing that sets you apart from the people with a workshop full of half finished projects is that you manage to push through and complete them. That's a skill as much as the hand sanding and forging and all the rest. Well done.

  • @samdahlandsonsforge
    @samdahlandsonsforge ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Will, Watching your craft grow since your start with Alec has been pretty inspirational. Just wanted to let you know that there is a big Montana support view for your efforts. I ran into a random cowboy on the family ranch who brought up the story of a guy who had built a knife career with no degrees or certifications in montana, and I know exactly who he was talking about. God bless man.

    Thought in the back of my mind for much of this was that people who complain about the price of truly nice things have no understanding of the blood, sweat, and tears in its making. Will, you are an artisan and craftsman of the highest order.

    This piece is absolutely beautiful. No surprise though, everything Will makes is stunning. I'm into big fixed blade weapons so I especially like the Bowie, hunting knives and of course swords. However, I do have an appreciation for all of the other pieces Will creates. I never miss an episode and always look forward to seeing what beautiful amazing piece will be made next or what old piece of equipment Will will restore. Will is just an amazing creative individual. I wish I could afford to purchase one of his knives as I'm sure many of his subscribers feel the same way. Maybe some day, you never know what could happen in the future. Another great piece Will, as per usual.

    This was one of the more interesting and intricate builds I've seen in a while, and I really like the way it turned out!
    I like that added detail of the carving on the scales, but I wonder about the finish a bit.
    That high buff and polish almost gives it a bit of a plastic-y look, I wonder how it would have looked with a softer more natural satin-like finish...

  • @MaineSnowman5509

    Absolutely beautiful! I do have a couple questions about it's function though.
    1 - Are the prongs far enough apart that you can put 1 marshmallow on each prong without them touching each other?
    2 - Are the prongs so smooth that a marshmallow would slip off while heating them?
    2b - Would twisting the prongs create a texture that would prevent the marshmallows from slipping off?
