Well...if that ain't a disco diva I don't know what it is 🤷♂. Unless Gloria and Donna that came from church and at times they regretted their dico days/success, Grace loved it since the first second, Studio54 was HER natural habitat. Grace Jones and Sylvester are the ultimate disco divas. Great material, I've never seen it before👍. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina 👋.
Who would ever have thought "back in the day" when this classic first spun on my turntable that there would ever be a crystal clear CD copy, let alone an actual video!
Another one that makes me remind those good old days I used to have in my childhood with some friends of mine. I know it is usefull to remind things but sometimes I wish I could forget the past because it hurts me so much to remind of things I cannot have anymore.
I think one Grace Jones best (there are so many), is "Muse." She really shows her range on a few songs. Songs like: "I'll Find My Way to You", "Don't Mess with the Messer", "Saved"
She Wasn't Underground. She was Up there with Gloria Gaynor, Carol Douglas, Carol Williams, Thelma Houston Vicki Sue Robinson, Sylvester and the other Disco Queens!!
The sun'll come out, tomorrow, Bet your bottom dollar, that tomorrow, There'll be sun, Just thinkin' about, tomorrow, Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow, till' there's none, When I'm stuck with a day, that's grey and lonely, I just stick out my chin, and grin, and say, Oh, the sun'll come out tomorrow, So you gotta' hang on till' tomorrow, Come what may. Tomorrow tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, You're only a day away, The sun'll come out, tomorrow, Bet your bottom dollar, that tomorrow, There'll be sun, Just thinkin' about, tomorrow, Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow, till' there's none, When I'm stuck with a day, that's grey and lonely, I just stick out my chin, and grin, and say, Oh, the sun'll come out tomorrow, So you gotta' hang on till' tomorrow, Come what may. Tomorrow tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, You're always a day away, Tomorrow tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, You're only a day away, The sun'll come out, tomorrow, Bet your bottom dollar, that tomorrow, There'll be sun, Just thinkin' about, tomorrow, Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow, till' there's none, When I'm stuck with a day, that's grey and lonely, I just stick out my chin, and grin, and say, Oh, the sun'll come out tomorrow, So you gotta' hang on till' tomorrow, Come what may. Tomorrow tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, You're always a day away, Tomorrow tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, Your'e only a day away [x10]
...Grace actually lucked out BIG TIME with this tune; the downtempo A Side ("Sorry") was being plugged, but the 12" remix of the B Side ("That's The Trouble") pushed the single to 'double sided' territory, and helped it scoot up the Disco charts to #7 Disco (Jan. 1977), until her "Portfolio" Album was finished & released Summer 1977...Grace had NO 'trouble', afterwards.....
Grace Jones would have never attained her iconic status without the support of the Sweethesrts of Sigma! It's. A shame those girls never released their. Own album!
Does anybody know this line from the chorus? I believe all the lyrics websites have incorrect lyrics for this. The line I can't figure out is "That's the trouble if you wanna (let you be?)" - That doesn't make sense, but that's what all the lyrics sites say, and it doesn't quite sound like that's what she says, but I just cannot make out what she actually sings there. Anybody know?
...I'm late, but I can answer...She actually IS saying '...let you be...' ; She's indicating that she wants to have Sex (no strings attached), but it's the MEN who try to 'lock it down', and become committed to her..... She indicating that they won't, '...leave her be...' , but it's worded as, '..LET ME (her) be...' ...maybe that why Gay Men can read what she means! ...ha-HAAA!
Whos listening in 2024

GREG MAY of Orlando, FL says: "This was the song Grace used to open her live disco shows with by riding a motorcycle onto the stage."

one of my favorite songs....good ole days of disco
She is incredible.
We had so much fun back then. Yes, I would believe that is Studio 54! That was about the only disco that disco stars performed at back then.

"Feel Like Dancin' CFCF -TV
I saw Grace at The Cabaret, a gay disco in San Francisco in 1977. . . Tickets were only $15. . . how would I have known now they go for $300
she asked me to marry her, I declined but I got a great song outta the deal.
I so love grace but she scares the hell out of me.
What Happened to the Clear Video of This?? It was like 8 minutes long. This is Short and Blurry!!
So this was the Canadian version of American Banstand eh?
