Julia Child, delightful and wise as always. This excerpt has whetted my appetite -- please upload the entire interview!

This is classic. When she passed away, style and good-spirit left the culinary arena. Martha Stewart is no Julia Child.

It's so cool that Julia Child visited The Culinary Institute of America.

When it said CIA, for some reason [though I knew it was Julia Child we are talking about], my mind automatically went to "Central Intelligence Agency".

Strangely and funnily enough, she was in the OSS during WWII. The OSS eventually became the Central Intelligence Agency. She wasn't a spy but her life before cooking - which she came to in later life - was already quite interesting.

      She was definitely a spy.

@2dasimmons We still have her Jacques Pepin who hosted her final cooking show with her in 1999, and Sarah Moulton, the very talented host of Cooking Live that was on the Food Network back when it was still worth watching who worked under Julia on her cooking with more company show. And we have talented home cooks who are still learning with Julia. However, there is only one Julia.

i learned in french class that she wanted to be a spy but the OSS would never let her due to her height and her voice she would have a hard time blending in

She wanted to join the Women's Army Corps, but they were the ones who turned her down because of her height. That's when she joined the OSS

@macintub Considering she was a spy in WW2 it's not hard to believe she'd be at the "other" CIA. Although in her time it was the OSS.

If I remember correctly it was the wacs who turned her down because of her height, or at least that is the story. I've not researched it to see if it is true or not.
