  • Any distressing event that can cause an overwhelming emotional response and impair your ability to cope with it can lead to mental trauma. It is much more common than we think. Hence, understanding the signs, triggers and eventually seeking professional help is of paramount importance.
I met up with Dr. Parul Tank, an exemplary Psychiatrist and emotional trauma specialist here in Mumbai to understand this topic better. She also explains in detail all the latest treatment modalities available.

Hi, my name is saleem, and I'm 32yrs. Old.
From birth till present i saw my parents fighting each and everyday,
Now my present condition : I hate my parents a lot, I don't talk to anybody, I can't work, I can't go for an interview, if I'm not drunk I feel like crying and dying.
Why do God created me, I hate God too.
While typing this I feel like crying.
    I can't do anything.
I belong to a low middle class family, I can't afford to psychological treatment.
    What to do????

Hi bro. First of all try and reduce the alcohol little by little and if you feel stressed/feel like crying, do not be afraid and go ahead and cry. If you feel angry then go and exercise or run or maybe punch a pillow, shout in a pillow or beat a tyre with a stick, anything to let that energy out. It is natural that you will hate your parents and feel very angry and frustrated but you have to release this energy in a non harmful way. Initially it will be hard to face those emotions but slowly you will feel lighter and won't need alcohol. Once the energy is out from your body then you can go and see a counsellor at a government hospital or maybe go to a spiritual person and read spiritual text. People will tell you to forgive your parents but that's not possible till you release all the stored anger, resentment and frustration.
Hope you do find some solace in this.

Hi madam, i had a relationship with my cousin. After a while when our family found out, she lied a lot about me infront of me and after that im not the person i was before. Its been 3years still i think about how she lied and I don't feel like doing anything. Anytime i see her i ask her why u lied but she ingnores me like its been 3yrs ago so why you are repeating and so on. In those times i can't control my emotions i do cry loud and i don't care about surroundings. I don't know how to move on.
It started when I'm 19, now im 22 and my body just feels tired and i feel demotivated when i see her. I do feel the pain physically. Sweatty hands etc.
I tried counselling and i stayed at a place for 10days but there i found that the therapists are blaming everything on me but the truth is that i started having discomfort after she lied about out relationship.

    Hi
After my c -section delivery .I am totally a different person now. I faced reality of life when my husband and MIL ignored me in hospital at the time of recovery after c- section .After initial 4 months of depression now I am 7 times stronger than before . At home as well as in office my performance improved but at the same time I unintentionally started dominating and humiliating my husband and MIL very badly. What is this .I am not like this .

therapist should understand the importance of their job..most of the psychologist they just complete their job for the money...not interested to understand the case...we have great respect psychologist..but some are destroying their image by themselves...thats why people think better we talk to our aunt
