Your instructions are perfect for every beginner or anyone who has dyed wool before. I'm sure by following your steps the end result will be a beautifully dyed fabric.
Thanks Claire, theres a few other recipes in that book that look interesting, I've tried some, but I love the simplicity of the mottled one, you can't go wrong! Thanks for watching! 💜
Hi Jeri. Great video. I love experimenting with dying fabric and acid dyes do give great results. Just to say that if you had added more vinegar with the second wool batch you would probably have got a deeper colour again. Also the acid dyes will dye other fabrics its just that you get the best and brightest colour with the right dyes for the fabric. Also if you had added some salt to the dye bath when adding the cotton this would have helped the cotton to take on more of the dye. Salt does to cotton and linen what vinegar does to silk and wool, it just helps the fabric take up more dye . Enjoy xx
Hi Diane, thanks for the info on the cotton fabrics I'll try the salt next time when I've finished using the dye for the wool. The second batch was a different color altogether but I did add more cloth to the batch so all the dye was absorbed. I'm sorry I didn't make that clearer in the video, I added that clip after the fact to show that the dye would get absorbed IF there was more cloth in the pot. Sounds like you do your fair share of dying, it's fun isn't it?!! I love it! I"ll be doing more tomorrow, I"m on a roll! 💜💜💜
Oh ME too Carolyn, I wish we were neighbors, we'd be playing up a storm! I totally agree, wool is the most wonderful textile to stitch into... Thanks for watching! 💜💜💜

I used to dye wool yarn with acid dye . I would soak the yarn in water with citric acid. This causes the yarn to absorb the color. So you could probably use citric acid in place of the lemon joy
Can I please ask what is lemon joy, I'm guessing dish washing detergent and does it specifically have to be that brand as it doesn't exist in Australia 😀
Applause please 👏for Jeri's vast knowledge, it was amazing. Due to my physical limitations and being In the southwest....I'll stick with ice dying. Have you ever tried Jeri? It is addictive. Might be a fun YT video. Thanks and x's, lj
This is strange. I have no intention of dying fabric. I find myself watching the vlog thinking oh that's interesting. Well, that's clever ,OK, that makes sense. I'm never going to do it ,it's not my thing.😂😂❤
Hahahaha, I'm glad I held your attention! Who knows, maybe you will do it someday and if you want to you know where to find the how to now! 💜 Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment!

Thank you Jeri, I’m grateful for you today!!
Thanks Carmen! Happy Saturday!
Gorgeous colours! Interesting that these dyes are non-toxic; I might check them out 😊😊
I love the colors I got, and I have a new project laid out on my table already too! 💜💜💜

Hello 👋🏻
The wool is gorgeous. I love stitching with wool. Never tried dying it though. Still wish we were neighbors 😂❤

Thank you dear friend! 💜💜💜
Thank you so much for this today! My mom loved dyeing wool… and it is missed.
You are so welcome! 💜💜💜
Thanks so much for the info Jeri. I ha e all of this stuff, but haven't gotten around to dying....will have to give it a try!💕
You can do it! It really is quite easy and look at the results, a big pile of wonderful! 💜

I use vinegar instead of the citric acid, the lemon joy just get's the cloth clean (scoured) and prepared for dying.
Great fun ❤
Thanks Karen! 💜

It's a dishwashing liquid and I've used other types and got good results. Just use something mild.
@@JeriBellini lovely thank you 🥰
