OPL/AdLib made clear distinction for me between very poor General Midi-compatible soundfont/wavetable of many onboard audio chips back in late 90s or early 00s, or a distinct 'video game-ey' sound, the later I much prefer. to this day, my ears would prefer Yamaha FM (cheap)keyboard, AdLib, or other synthesizer element-heavy sound generator, almost over high end digital 'real' instrument emulations(and vsts alike) as they're not fooling me for what they aren't. I think my life is ruined (in a good way? :)), as I often cringe on emulated real instruments in DAWs. sure it goes back to the composer/arranger to make music that meshes well, even if given the same midi file.
Technically speaking, I did not make the MIDI or the original song, so I don't know if I even have the right to tell you yes or no. But personally, I don't mind and I'd love to see OPL3 music shared freely.
That's an absolute banger for an OPL3 chip!
one of the best ISA card I've ever had in my studio
This is such a weirdly relaxing song (hilarious meme aside). I might just set this as my ringtone. XD
ah! odd, that big Creative chip with labelled "France"... I did not know Sound Blaster had a french connection...
