Are there restrictions on the TAXI10 code? You said it's for the month, but it doesn't work for me (I'm in the Netherlands). I tried contacting yFood about it, but they never responded.
Quite a few years ago, I was returned from Paris on Eurostar, back when it arrived into Waterloo. Jumped into a black cab to bring me home to North London. Driver and I got straight into a lovely chat and when he found out I work in fashion, he told be Gianni Versace had just been shot dead in Miami. It was a sombre ride but one I will never forget as the cabbie was an utter gentleman. Stay well and positive. Hello for N2 : - )
"I've been driving for four and a half years" Video posted 6 months ago. Congrats on being a cabbie for fix years mate, I found your channel via your colab with Tom Scott, and been loving your content. Keep up the great work.
If someone asks you to get there quickly drive like someone who appears to be driving quickly. Accelerate slightly quicker, brake a little later and steer a little quicker to rock the car around parked vehicles etc and make sure the passenger can't seea speedo. (tips I learnt from a chauffeur who was always getting hassle!).
HAHA, I worked with Brian Johnson back in 2015/6 briefly. He was to appear in a film I was an extra in that was filmed in Newcastle. But he pulled out due to hearing issues. As my main trade at the time was Man and Van doing light haulage with my own van. I got a booking to pick up some music instruments from an address in the Gateshead area that was stored in a garage to take to a secure storage location on Staples Corner in London which I collected from Brians brother Mo (Maurice). From that, I got bookings from Mo as his business is Gigabite and he needed items moving from Gateshead to Newcastle and Sunderland. His business is nothing to do with computers as I thought. Mo is a caterer and he provides catering to music events and festivals and other gigs. Hence Gig a Bite.
I am really enjoying you’re content Tom. I’m a HGV Driver and a Paramedic, I’m considering undertaking the knowledge as a result of you’re videos. You’re perspective of London as a city is very unique.. it’s always a pleasure to see a new video from yourself. Keep up the great content.. also have you considered doing voice over work? You’re voice is very unique & soothing. Take care.
14:01 I still recall when you had a series of short videos on your channel called "Tales from a Taxi". I miss those. Do you reckon you can bring it back?
I once had 3 dodgy lads in my Taxi when one of them said "Oi mate what would ya do if we done a runner" ??? Should of seen the look on their faces when i replied " Not bothered if ya do, but make sure all of you can run faster than this car because id run it straight over ya" needless to say they where made to pay upfront :)
You mentioned have Bricktop aka Alan Ford in your cab. I met him on the set of Cockneys vs Zombies while I was an extra in the film. Chatted to him for ages, really nice bloke and absolutely hilarious to chat to. Not sure how I'd feel about having Alan Carr in the back though, seems nice but his voice for too long I think would perforate my eardrums.
I absolutely loved this video, Tom. I wish I could hire you for an hour or so! My mom (retired in Tampa) is gonna come to London for Remembrance Day this year and it would be so much fun to drive her around! She was a tourguide to london in the 80s and 90s. She took US military and their families on bus tours to London. Dang I wish you did bookings like that haha! Thank you for another awesome and engaging video. And booooo to Uber! :)
🚖 Love the competition. Thanks to you I tried YFood because I was looking for a meal replacer (I tend to be too lazy to prepare healthy food, so I end up eating incredibly unhealthy). I love it!
When it comes to that one about getting somewhere ASAP I think in some instances one can take it as a suggestion to take possibly longer and more expensive but faster routes (such as going around the whole downtown hustle and bustle via a motorway). Now not having a clue about London in any detail I am not sure if that is an actual thing that can be done though.
Hi Tom, your videos are great, I really enjoy them, the only thing to be picky about is the latest videos, the volume is very low, when the ads are on, the volume is significantly higher. I hope this helps. All the best!
Hey! I edited this video for Tom and the audio was put to its usual setting - I’ll take this into consideration for next time and see if I can increase the volume slightly :) Thanks
🚖🚖 love the videos. Will place an order with yfood shortly. I’ve ordered from them a while back when I saw them advertise on one of your previous videos and enjoyed them. The banana is the best flavour!
I almost got Damien Hirst killed in my taxi, he asked if it was safe to get out (he was sat behind me) and as I checked and said “yeah you’re fine mate”, this double decker came flying around the corner missing him by a matter of inches 😅
Hello Tom, I have a question for you that I believe has not been asked before. Does it annoy you when a customer asks to be dropped off before their final destination, because they do not want to go over a certain amount ?
Great question. Years spending doing point to point and having those photographic finishes in your head, and then they spoil it by saying they want to jump out. My brain just momentarily has to re-kickstart.
that interaction with bricktop ( alan ford) was priceless. hahaha what a diamond geezer. when he paid you should have said "well, thanks for the tip, bricktop!" th-cam.com/video/2E1t74HAgpM/w-d-xo.html
I know that's an unwritten rule for Bus Drivers, even if it's different companies! As a bus driver myself, I try and wave to other drivers when safe to do so
Tom I would love to have a chat with you about Uber and how shit they are to work for. I apricot them fro 5yrs and thought the kick down and how they treated me. I am working for an airport company now and will be for the future so in and out of london every day
@@TomtheTaxiDriver Thanks. I've just watched your video. I assume I got turned down a number of times because the taxi driver may not guarantee a fare on his return journey from Clapham back to The West End. Better to stay in the West End and get lots of small fares?
Just listening to your Uber comments. Man you are great, love your videos but on this issue you are very wrong. Uber is here to stay for customers, they provide AMAZING value to them!!!

I find it rather extraordinary that someone will ask what you earn! Such a personal question, so intrusive.
Really interesting answers to the questions, love the entertaining!

Don't know if I'm to late but I do believe Tom does guided tours in London, probs worth getting in contact on Instagram to get that set up
I get asked those first 2 questions all the time working at a petrol station
What's been your longest journey? is always my favourite question to ask. Some real fun stories.

good stuff Tom, i was hoping to hail you recently near Victoria. not too likely really
Question for ya? Have you encountered road rage aimed at you during a shift? or see anyforms of road rage happening when on shift?
And I've learnt "hedonic adaptation"! Excellent observation
A bit funny this video the conversation starters are so typical. Nearly every time I see my neighbours we talk about the weather or our cars
I’ve cabbed for 38 years and nobody has ever asked me what I’ve had for lunch, great Segway into yfoods though Tom
Alright mate!!! What have you had for lunch?
😉 I have been asked for restaurant and dinner recommendations though
38 years u must be a millionaire by now
Tom, have you had any birds come on to you in the cab? ie; a bird offering you a leg over
🚕 orders in! Great videos, thanks Tom!
I always ask cabbies if they've ever had a cheeky Sherman in their cab. Most of them have. Uber drivers less so.
I read a story somewhere from a cabby that a Japanese tourist wanted to go to zoo but said zo-o so driver thought he wanted soho !
Very cool insights. Honestly surprised about the amount of celebrities you’ve had in the cab!
Thanks Tom I really enjoyed that
Great video as always 'Tom',,greetings from a 'Dublin ' Taxi driver 😀
@Tomthetaxidriver Would you ever consider releasing the audio from these peice to camera videos as a podcast on spotify or something?
I always talk about food. Trying to ruin the cabbies day by making them hungry.
Love it Tom !
Hi from Northern Ireland
Hello Tom, I have a question for you that I believe has not been asked before. Does it annoy you when a customer asks to be dropped off before their final destination, because they do not want to go over a certain amount ?
Why would that bother the driver? Also what if the passenger didn't realise how much it would cost and only had an X amount of money?
Great question.
Years spending doing point to point and having those photographic finishes in your head, and then they spoil it by saying they want to jump out.
My brain just momentarily has to re-kickstart.
What are you doing if you get in a cab and the first question you ask isn’t “been busy?” 🤣
'What football team do you support?' bet you get that one a lot!
Привет. Хорошие ролики про такси в Лондоне делаешь. Молодец
i picked a German tourist who said to me i used to sit near you in school about 40 years previous
I understand the cab trade has improved, do you still think there’s still a future for the knowledge boys?
George Osborne and Bojo loves Uber!
We’ve known this for years! Black rock buddies
Hello to all taxi drivers from Russia
Waterloo Sunset
North side of Waterloo Bridge, not the south side.
Tom, can London Black cabs be booked online or through an app?
They can be but I think most cabbies would prefer picking you up off the street or at a rank so there's no commission off the fare
Yeah, u can get them like Ubers.
Taxi App, Taxi Now, FreeNOW or Gett.
But as said, street hail usually wins in times of uncertainty
I AM TAXI DRIVER EVERY TIME I GET A CUSTOMER WHO SAYS GO FASTER I SAY I CANNOT AFFORD THE TICKET FROM THE POLICE
Do you have merch? You gotta get merch mate, sell it at a reasonable price and they will sell like hot cakes. Love your videos'.
Have you been busy? guilty as charged.

How was Gazza not the first name you mentioned on the celeb list? 🤣
@7.20 - tmi Tom, TMI!!!
I love the edit when you say you shorted Uber!!!!!! 😂😂😂
Is there an unwritten rule that you wave at other cabbies, even if you don't actually know them?

Have you ever had a «stake out»? I have had a couple of them.
Have you ever done a job to Princes risborough Bucks?
Using a pub toilet without buying a drink 😖 Wetherspoons gets a pass on that though.
Great video
Am curious as to app used by Tom for shares but doubt he'll wanna promo unless they sponsor a vid lol
Subbed.
But my question would be how do you redpill passengers?
Good
Or if you have a football match on the radio and they always ask who's playing and which team do you support. Every single fkn time.
The sound in your videos is quite low compare to other TH-cam videos. Am I the only one to have that ?
How many women taxi drivers are there in London?
Hi Tom!
Are you still taking bookings for your tours? Can’t seem to find the link that I thought used to be on your website
Currently not I’m afraid
Be honest no one really asks you what you have for lunch do they.

how much of your cash-in-hand earnings do you declare to the taxman!?
Nice just subscribed
Awesome thank you!
Have you ever driven the fake taxi?
All of them Celebs. Wow I wanna be a cabbie🤣. Think the most famous celeb I’ve ever seen is Jamie Oliver and I dunno if he counts 🤣
