One was with a gun and the other was just 2 months ago by hanging. Depression pisses me off. It takes to many good people and makes them feel so lost and alone. I honestly can't say I won't attempt it again and not because I want to die but because I will do anything for some relief of this torment.
Rest in peace, Chester.. It's hard for me to listen to anything related to LP or even see pictures of you anymore without wanting to break down. You were there for me when no one else was. Your music, your humor, your personality helped me through so much. And knowing that no one could help you the way you helped me and millions of others breaks my heart. It is also easy to criticize them when they release something you don’t like because it always feels like they’ll have forever to top their last effort. Being reminded of mortality and the fragility of life with events like this feels like an absolute gut punch. It isn't that nobody cared while he was here, he was undeniably well-loved; this was just an unimaginable outcome. How can we react to something that didn't see coming. People can point to his lyrics as red flags, but that is never a literal indicator. The beauty of music is that it allows for an exaggerated medium to purge your most negative thoughts and demons and tie them off to a musical balloon to float away and not rot you from the inside out.

It isn't that nobody cared while he was here, he was undeniably well-loved; this was just an unimaginable outcome. How can we react to something that didn't see coming. People can point to his lyrics as red flags, but that is never a literal indicator. The beauty of music is that it allows for an exaggerated medium to purge your most negative thoughts and demons and tie them off to a musical balloon to float away and not rot you from the inside out.

Man I’ve gone down a rabbit hole.. I wish I could have seen them. Chester was the first death I experienced where I was torn apart for someone I never met. His voice was so amazing and helped me through some dark times. RIP CHESTER.
1 year already I can’t believe it it hurts as much if not more as it did last year. My only hope is that he no longer smiles through the pain but that his pain is no more. I would imagine he is celebrating Chris’s 54th birthday with him right now ❤️

I miss you both. I understood your disease, bc I'm one of those who also has the dubious honor of having battled a form of treatment resistant depression for 23 yrs. I'd do or give anything to switch places with you guys so the world, your friends and your loving families could have you back again.
