The buildup at the start of this song fit perfectly with the light turning green in the game. It was like the song was hitting the gas right alongside you
You said it. I remember playing so many games, back in the nineties. A lot of them were shareware, and I never could get the registered version, but it was still much fun.
This along with Highway Hunter, Cannon Fodder and Jetpack was one of my favorite games in the atomic arcade demo disk. There are parts of VGM that I can remember for decades without playing the game and 2:11-2:33 is one of them.
Highway Hunter does indeed have an awesome soundtrack too. I still have the opening theme / menu theme on a cassette that I recorded by holding up to the speakers on my dad's 486 PC sometime 30 years ago... The things we did before TH-cam! Lol
@@chloesmith4065 Yeah we had a TV with an integrated a VHS, one day while messing around with it my bro and I discovered we could record out play-through of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega genesis with the red dot button.
@@markklem Sorry about the cryptic comment, I'm pretty sure I just meant that there are so many different melodies and elements in the relatively short song that I found it very impressive
Not an exaggeration honestly. It would be hard to pick just one Apogee game soundtrack but this would absolutely be in my top 3. Maybe even in the #1 slot but i really like some of the Rise of the Triad, Raptor, and Major Stryker songs so it's hard to decide on a #1. But WW is definitely in the conversation. And Turbo is part of why. What a killer composition.
+Teppica well I'm using the TH-cam app and it's not working there. The only place that it is is when I check on my responses via Google via the Internet app on my iPad.
1:20 I've hummed this tune on and off for the last 26 years and could never remember where it was from. What a day today is 🥂

This game and jazz jackrabbit... *shivers* oh 1990's were good for pc gaming :D
golden age

This was when electronic music peaked...
Thought there was something special about the Wacky Wheels soundtrack. Turns out there's a long opera hidden there :D
what does that mean?

@@miarf I gotcha, thanks 😀

Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Music from Wacky Wheels is perhaps the best music from Apogee games!
This and Jazz Jackrabbit
@@UltromanTheTacoman Jazz was an EPIC megagame... but yes it also had AWESOME music!
@@matthewvecchio9553 Indeed. Didn't mean to conflate, but I can see that I did :)
Wow, you really think so? Thanks!
