This entire album is called Attention Attention. It's a concept album about an individual overcoming negativity and related problems like depression to be reborn as a new person. It's my favorite album from my favorite band. You should do more of this album!

Gotta get "What A Shame" onto the reaction list. VASTLY underrated and underrepresented Shinedown song. Let me say that again....VASTLY.....Underrated.
Mostly underrepresented due to the fact that they literally never do it live, which is probably because Brent can't hit the high note on the last chorus. If I remember correctly it's only ever been done live twice, once in 2010 and once at an acoustic show a couple years ago, where brent broke down crying in the middle of the song and couldn't finish it.

It speaks to my PTSD from Iraq and Afghanistan in the Marines. It reared it's ugly head and I had my gun in my mouth for about a minute. Thankfully I didn't follow through with my wife and son in the next room! I'm getting help now and if there's anyone out there having a hard time with depression or PTSD please please please get help!!

My monsters will never go away... In 2005 my friend and I joined the ARMY out of highschool. In 07 he died in an ied explosion 1 truck in front of me I watched him due there was nothing I could do. Another veteran friend who was injured the year before took her life 1 1 2020 so yeah I got some issues

Brents addiction was to opiates and cocaine as well as alcohol. In an interview I seen he talked about how he was taking oxycontin and doing cocaine on a daily basis with alchol on top of it. He said he is lucky to still be alive as he had multiple occassions where he was close to od'ing. Glad he got clean, his talent and songwriting needs to continue for us all.
He did podcasts years ago with the 3 albums LAW, US and Them, SOM. He opened up about everything the drugs, how he got clean. He talked for over 1/2 hour even 1 hour. I have them on my channel if you would want to listen to them.
This song has helped me stay sober many time. I call Jesus and an understanding friend in recovery too. My Monsters come in the form of a baggie of meth and a needle. Jesus helped me to become sober for 18 years. Jesus is my Savior in so many ways. That is why I have given myself heart, mind and soul to The Lord Jesus Christ.. This song is very accurate to what goes on inside me sometimes.. Even after so long.. Great Reaction Devin..
