Astute observation! At first, I thought you were stretching to make a point. Then I read about the song and how it came about. This hymn is somehow even better now!
In fact, that's why this is my favorite rendition of this hymn. Since childhood, I've listened for certain alto and tenor notes thru-out, so I've been disappointed by other (excellent) recordings. They simply didn't have the fullness I found here.
A certain old lady used to sing this song every sabbath at church. I didn't understand the meaning of the words back then, but now l can feel the depth of the words as the choir sings it so beautifully 🙌
Happy discovery, 6 years later. So very much what I needed today, and I thank you, brothers and sisters. No matter where you are these six years down the road, no matter the trials you yourselves have endured, may each of you have that peace, even as you've reminded all of us so beautifully.

Another amazing video and brilliant singing. I can almost picture me and my special lady friend, Charity Lena Porch of Galesburg, Illinois singing this song, anytime I think of her or her me. I can tell that we're perfectly matched, a match made in Heaven. She loves me and I her, so therefore we're fully in love with each other. I may be calm and comforting, but even I fly off the handle, but she's a woman of peace and is intended only for peace and not for harm, she's the soothing yin to my uncontrollable, sometimes firey yang, but what can I say, but as Paula Abdul says "Opposites Attract". And if the Lord wills, we'll be able see and talk to each other in person, in real life and she'll come & be safe, move up here and start a new life with me in Washington state.

The beauty of acappella is hearing every note which makes up the complex and beautiful harmony.

This is one reassuring hymn, it states that the earthly war troubling our lives shall end soon as Jesus is busy interceding in our behalf
