@@vezokpiraka who says you need the chase cards? There are no tournaments where these cards would be needed anymore so you can just build whatever you want for fun :)
The WoW card game sounds like an awesome tool for DnD or something. 'Here is the Horseman's Horrifying Helm! If you laugh a scary laugh, you can prevent damage!' 'Do I have to do the laugh-' 'This is roleplaying! Yes you have to do that laugh!'

The card I remember the most from this game was Confessor Mildred. It’s ability was “Pay 2 mana, destroy Confessor Mildred-> destroy target ability.” You’d activate the effect by paying the cost of 2 mana and destroying the card. Then your opponent would activate an effect to destroy Mildred, trying to negate the effect. You’d spend the next 5 minutes trying to explain to them that they can’t destroy Mildred because it was already destroyed and that their isn’t (at the time) anyway to prevent Mildred’s effect. You needed a judge every time because nobody believed you Also, Leeroy was in every agro deck at the beginning of the game. You’d hear people yelling Leeroy Jenkins all day at events

This game was absolutely wild. Best TCG I've ever played. There was a "meta", but the fun part about this game was that you could play whatever the heck you wanted. Any strategy was viable enough to win games. I remember one game I played with a friend that last for more than 3 hours (1 game out of 3, we didn't even have time to finish it). My deck was DK bullshit control that had both late game threats and the damn ring that destroyed heroes. His deck was some insane druid build that simply stalled the game completely and reshuffled his GY in his deck so he was just waiting for me to mill out. (I also had that quest, but I could only use each once, while he replayed them) It got extremely tense when I played the ring and he only had one single equipment destruction card and he spent all his 20 mana in search for the damn card just to cast it with the last two and continue to extend the game.
Those are the best kinds of matches! Doesn't matter who wins or loses, just have fun :) I used to play a Murloc Poison Tipped meme deck that somehow had a pretty reliable wincon even tho 45 of the cards were just the 1 cost murloc coastrunner unlimited ally! Even won a tournament with it once!
You should absolutely go through the old TCG cards. They’re pretty awesome. The raid decks are also amazing. I own several and I still play them with my friends sometimes. The raids decks really offer a unique experience that Hearthstone does not capture at all.
Ooh. Ooooh. I have to watch this when I have time. Been working on a collection of the old WoW TCG cards for a couple years now. They did some really cool experimental stuff with it! Like Single Player/PvE modes. Even "boss battle" decks.
I feel like the game would be radically different though if it contained ongoing spell cards. As there would have to be cards printed that interacted with them.
