    Very helpful videos.
I appreciate you taking the time to explain the process. I know now I can do this on my own. Im not a mechanic but I love doing my own work when I know what im doing. Not afraid to get down and dirty. Thank you very much for the tutorial

Best how to video ever. I hate videos where you suddenly see a part removed with no explanation where it goes and how they really got it off. I once destroyed a truck because the video said I could replace the wheel bearings with nothing more than a steel pipe in 20 minutes. Thank you.

    How did it all go?
    Any problems?
They now make a steel flexible oil drain I may do that too!

Everything worked perfectly once back together. I was honestly surprised the car ran as well as it did , with the turbo and cat in the condition it was. Thanks for the feedback.

Awesome camera work. Super helpful. I've heard you can do this oil cooler if you only remove the cat. You have to remove the oil filter/cap, unbolt the coolant line from the cooler (S shaped line), and the one from the block (straight line). Pull it out of the oil drain into the block, push it up enough to get the coolant pipe out of the left side (straight pipe). Then you can remove it out the bottom. I'm going to try this way. I'm having coolant enter the oil, but compression test is fine, no pressure building up in cooling system, and pressure holds at 20PSI, plugs are clean and engine runs normal. It's either the oil cooler, or timing cover gasket. Hoping its just this.

I was able to do it the way I explained today. Possible without removing exhaust manifold!

This is the best video on this type of drivetrain. Cruz, Traxx or Encore. I broke the nut on the catalatic flexpipe connection. Sprayed it with oil put a socket on the pressed end and put in a vice and pressed it out. Autozone had the 8mm bolt and nuts so now I have extra. Thanks again for the great video.

Great video very helpful. The seals for the turbo coolant lines are Gm 25198928 or Dorman 667-580 The Gm ones are the best fit , the Dorman ones are loose around the inner diameter. I put the coolant line on the engine block then on the turbo before the exhaust manifold is installed , didn’t have to remove the AC compressor.

I had the ole camshaft cover/intake/hose/pcv nightmare repaired under special coverages through GM 2 weeks ago, told me my oil cooler is leaking/cracked. $1,800 to do this repair.
Been watching videos left and right, been fixing most of the problems myself, confident I can tackle this.
Thank you for providing the part number for the o-ring at 46:00.
That was the one thing that worried me about this, other videos I viewed, people were using a random o-ring because they couldn't find the part number.
After all it takes to get to that o-ring and seeing every video how chewed up and worn down flat they become, nope...
As for that pcv fix through coverages. 14' cruze, 112k, the coverages are 10years/120k miles.. covers camshaft cover and intake manifold, any dealer will perform this repair. (I barely made it before it expired. p107, runs/idles rough, full vacuum through pcv.)
Here's a link to the coverages for anyone it may help.
    static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10178406-9999.pdf
They threw in hoses and seals for free.

I have to do the same thing to grandmas car. You fix one thing, then something else has to break. After catalytic converter turbercharger and all the lines. Granda will have a brand new car!! Any updates on the car you fixed?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

It has been working great , never even knew the turbo manifold was bad until removing it , but major improvement in performance afterwards. I am sure some had to do with the cat as well. I fixed the pcv diaphragm in another video and finally got the pesky check engine light to go off on its own. I think I was more excited about that issue being solved. Anyways thank you very much for the feedback.

When putting on the exhaust manifold. I had a very hard time connecting the pipe that goes from the oil pan. Luckily the exhaust manifold was loose. I still had to remove the exhaust manifold and get the bolts started. First then reinstall the exhaust manifold. Once again thanks for the help I could have never done it without your video. Did you have any issues with leaks when using the amazon banjo gaskets on the block where the coolant supply lines goes? I purchased the same kit and the washer seem a little loose. I did have one that came with my turbo that I put on the head side of the banjo bolt. Thanks!

Why Chevy did you go with all this cheapness? I don't get why they didn't just build a 2.0 liter engine without turbo to get same fuel economy & power. Chevy could have made a better design on the turbo system & especially on the pcv system with these engines. This is why cost cutting trying to get quick sales backfires. I love old Chevy's, Fords,Plymouth,Dodge American built. Now i own Toyota vehicles because yes you have to do maintenance but don't have this bullcrap.

That's Opel motor project made by GM. All Opel Asta J 1.4T with same motore A14NET in Europe have same problems.. mine too.. gasket, leaking, pipe, PCV valve problem etc etc.. fuck it shtty plastic.. then also the high working temperature (108°C) increase problems on the pipe, tank etc. of the cooling system.
