Is there any wrestling games in the collection?
It’s really cool that there’s over an hour of videos with commercials, interviews, etc. on this I really enjoy going through everything in the last few days but I grew up with these systems

Thanks for this vid. I grew up in my youth with the classic Atari 2600 and all the games on it like centerpede ect. I am so happy that I can play these games again as an adult person.

No Space Invaders is a dagger through the heart. It's one of the rare times where the home game was better than the arcade.

I opened three of the five classified games so far, they all involve doing something on the new reimagined games ie neo breakout Quadra tank haunted house.

I completed Miner 2049 is was the best game on Atari 400.
Some DLC games coming free today, hope they are good ones.

I use to enjoy these games and it was fun at its time for its time..Games came a long way to now wit 4k and 120fps

I'm waiting for a sale. I have all the consoles, and most of the Everdrives. But portability on the Switch is dope.
I remember Pong. But I'm not sure if I knew Atari was the first to bring Pong home. Everybody had Pong. Everyone had a different company's pong.
When the VCS came out, I was hooked! When Adventure came around, I found my favorite game of all time.
I still play games, retro and new. I love Rocket League.
With its mechanics and gameplay, I feel like I've been practicing for it for 40 years!
These games are crude by today's standards. But we learned how to walk before we learned how to run. Atari was the walk where as the NES was the running.
I got it for the switch and I ordered it for the Xbox series X which is arriving on Thursday in the mail. The switch version is awesome because you can use the touchscreen for the pong type games.
They should have put this out as an affordable mini console I can't afford the newer consoles right now even if I could find them available

This doesn't show as optimised on Xbox store. Is it a Gen scarlet release as pretty sure it is currently just backwards compatible. It is certainly not a 4k output currently.

Its optimised, its nearly a 4gb extra install on Series X, Nearly 12gb in Total on X.
Games play perfect - No Noticeable Input Lag, Tempest 2000 is worth the Price of admission alone🙂🤙

@@Skycaptin5 Tempest 2000 was ported to several platforms, including the PS1 and Saturn. It doesn't need to be an exclusive to be a game worthy of the Atari collection. If it was on an Atari platform it should be eligible for this collection

Quite nicely put together, although I doubt very much I'd spend more than a minute or two with most of the games and would definitely skip the majority.
I'm old enough to have owned the original systems and kind of wish we'd see dedicated compilations for say C64 & Amiga across all platforms, with curated titles.
Obviously this won't happen, rights & all that jazz.
The better titles on the original VCS were published by Activision, and clearly, this omission, whilst being understandable, fails to represent that part of the catalogue worthy of consideration.
Anyway, RetroArch - nuff said.
The star of the show here is the interactive timeline and documentary sections. Yeah, sure, you can emulate all this stuff on your phone if you want.. and Retroarch is ok, when paired with another frontend.. but this is more of a core sample of Atari History... the presentation is the point.. and its giving you context you'll never get through Retroarch or Mame.
This collection is worth it just for the new & re-imagined games. Vctrsctr and Quadratank

I think you guys are getting the wrong idea here, yes they were crap games and also good games for their time, and this compilation shows what Atari was going through at the time when they were still making games, and their only successful platforms were Arcades and the 2600 while everything else failed. These games shouldn’t be compared to newer games, current gen games have a whole lot to offer, of course you can say they were better than retro games.

Let's face it, most gamers aren't going to choose this over a their Gamepass sub or RetroArch.
Video games started in the early 70s but Atari didn't come to the battle field until another 20yrs later in the 70s and made games mobile as in consoles overall I'm never keen to go back to Atari days I'd play the Jag and Atari lynx games but anything else I'd steer far away I can't go back to graphics from this old azz timeline I'll keep that at the museum of video games history I don't even like indie games that have rubbish graphics that look like it was made in 1967 meets 1984 I can't stand seeing budget graphics anymore I just can't
