Looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing all of these techniques. Especially the gel colouring directly onto the cake. I honestly didn't know PC sold graham cracker crumbs either!
Oh, I learned to make cakes in The Bahamas with NO air conditioning in the house. It's different. You can't use pure butter. You just can't. Crisco is your friend. And the electricity goes off 5 times a day, so if you think you will just keep the cake in the fridge....good luck on that! Island life is not what people think it is! So I'm listening to you and reading all the comments and it is bringing back many funny...and sometimes not so funny memories of making cakes in absolute heat! The cake is beautiful! You are so so talented. Makes me homesick.
What?! 5 times a day??? Wow. I guess you would get used to it, but still! My hats off to everyone who can make cakes in these conditions! I sure couldn’t… 💕🥰
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe No one gets used to that! But, you get used to not relying on things. So you have backup plan A,B and C......always! It just makes you appreciate things more. That's all!
Would you refrigerate a cake for a night before taking it to the party? I have to make my daughter's cake for Saturday and wondered when to do the icing and how long to chill for as it may be hot on the day. Loves the video! Thanks.
I love how you’re so unapologetic about your pricing! I live in Texas and I’ve seen people try and negociate the pricing of local home bakerie’s cakes and I totally feel like they are devaluating the work of the bakers, so unfair
Thank you, Karina! I have learned that you have to be firm or else you spend valuable time haggling when you could just be making cakes for clients that don’t negotiate with you. Happy baking 🥰
I don't think I could charge more than $35 for that at my shop. albeit, I would use plastic shell / beach decor. Interesting technique on using a brush for the waves, gives a little different effect than using a spatula.
That combed texture on one side really mimics the pattern in the shells and pulls it all together - love it! Love the waves! 💙
Aw thank you, David! 💕
I was gonna say.

Thank you! 6 inch :)
Impt question. Wat buttercream would u recommend for Hot weather?
Gosh. Honestly none of them will do super well in extreme weather, but I would assume American!
Beautiful ❤️
Thanks, Nhowell! 🍰💕
Love the simplicity. Is this a 6" cake?
Thank you! I think it’d be great in a two tiered for a beach wedding. Makes me want to go to Mexico! It is 🥰

Fair enough! Areas differ so much 💕
True, Everything is cheaper here in Texas!
Cute .
Thanks, Christone!
Using buttercream in heat...I hate it! Believe it or not we do get the occasional hot day here in the UK💜💜
We’re just so much milder usually…never more than 30 degrees C. We hit 40!!
