Two different styles...I was on a line like TC it was fun plus it made you want to move but if I had to pick a winner it would be JSU for the precision but both side displayed there styles very nicely
TC was together but JSU is a line meant to chop. TC was a line meant play simple things to grove. TC is like a Drumset and JSU was like how most DCI lines would sound.

I love it. Both schools are great in their own right. It's good to have diversity. Different styles respecting and appreciating each other is what we need.
I think a better match up would have been JSU vs. Cold Steel or JSU vs SCSU or JSU vs. Norfolk. if they want to do a Drum Corps styled Drumline vs. show style. I like how Cold Steel, SCSU, and Norfolk are versatile and would have something for them no matter which style they chooses.
If this really was a competition ... then JSU takes the WIN! Both have very different styles... but JSU is clean, precise and tight. TC's snares sounded like they needed tuning.
TC got chopped and sliced up. just because JSU's cadences were not packed full of hybrid rudiments doesnt that JSU didnt display their chops. JSU has more versatility in their cadences. everything changes time signatures and nothing was repetitive. Dega played everything with the same fill and was not clean as a section. JSU looked more like a section as well. truth be told this really was more of a showcase instead of a battle. JSU played their easiest material and ate them up alive.

Yes, both schools respectively have their own style and do well with it. HOWEVER, despite style, as a musician, you know in a group, "one band , one sound". TC is good, it does sound as though the snares, tenors and basses were badly in need of tuning. JSU was very well in tune. TC was not together did not produce one sound.
