    You have a great presentation skill set. GERBER is legendary and always will be the value proposition that lasts. Usa 420 will do it alll and resharpen to good edge easily. A used gerber is even better value.

    That Master Hunter is over $200 in Canada before taxes. Even with exchange rate, Canadian sellers are insane. It may be 3V but it is made in Taiwan. I do enjoy my Carbon V and San Mai Master Hunter.

    SRK compact in 3V is a good one for a hundred.

    Found a random company, Station IX, who have a few samplings on offer but their SERE knife is actually really nice. To me it does everything the Strongarm was supposed to do in a nicer package.

    You really hate the Strongarm lmfao😂 I love it, but I agree, there are definitely better options. I think the Strongarm is definitely unbeatable in regards to strength and durability(survival situations) at its price-point. But for precision and well-roundedness on basic camping trips, there are dozens of knives better. 💯

    Thanks for the suggestions. These are indeed, all better knives than the Strongarm. However, a few corrections:
    1) Demko Freereign is bigger than all the others under consideration, including the Strongarm. However, it's actually closest in blade length to the Strongarm and only has about 1/4" more cutting edge. In terms of cutting edge, the Master Hunter comes closest to the Strongarm, though it's nearly 1/2 shorter in blade length. In part, that's because the Strongarm has a really wonky plunge and wastes space.
    Armiger = 4.25"length - 4.00" cutting edge.
    Garberg = 4.3" length - approx 4.00" cutting edge
    Master Hunter = 4.5" blade length - approx 4.25" cutting edge
    Strongarm = 4.875-inch blade length - approx 4.4" cutting edge
    Freereeign = 5.0" blade - 4.625 cutting edge
    2) The Garberg and the Armiger offer superior steel to the Strongarm, with excellent sheath systems, while being significantly cheaper. The San Mai Master Hunter is $10 more than the Strongarm, but has superior steel, a better cutting profile, and almost as much cutting edge in a slightly smaller package. the 3V Master Hunter, Freereign in AUS-10, and in Magnacut are all much better knives than the Strongarm, but they also all cost significantly more.
    Garberg (14C28N stainless) w/ multimount = $60 on Amazon atm
    Armiger 4 = $66 on Amazon atm.
    Strongarm = $79 on Amazon atm
    Master Hunter (VG-10 San Mai) = $90 on Amazon atm. 3V = $120 atm.
    Freereign (AUS-10) = $150 on Amazon atm. Magnacut = $200, if you can find one.

      Thank you for the break downs, some of them are a little more subjective, and the Freereign I had recently saw was on sale on Amazon for $100 so it can run in this price range. But yeah that’s why I left it for them end because I believe it is a competitor but not the most direct.

      @@AlaskanFrontier1 the price variations on Amazon can be wild! Probably the most important thing is that the Strongarm was a great deal when it was half the current price. Not so much now.

      I like american made 420hc and in 10 years people will still know what a gerber strongarm is or was and wont give af about the rest on your list.

    Ok from the beginning my friend. You did it they are many options way better than the Gerber strongarm. I think the prodigy is way better but is a matter of another video.
    Demko knifes are awesome period.
    Cold steel yes they are great value. .I'm a SRK lover but I see other options on the table like the Terava skrama jakariipukko 140. Many Spanish brands like Aitor. Muela. Jeo TEC etc. In the same range of price.
    options at very affordable price J Peltonen sissipuukko M95.
    Flissa 9 inch D2 Bushcraft/Survival knife
    Odenwolf W scandi D2 steel .

    One of the absolute best things about the Gerber Strong arm is the sheath. It is very flexible and can be worn Horizontal or vertical it’s just a great design. It would be interesting to see the sheaths of these to compare usability and design.

    Used to be able get a Strongarm around 50 dollars. Current price seems high against the competition.

    As a knife I agree there are plenty of better options. But if you’re a Poke, Prod, Pry Bar kind of guy, the Strong Arm is hard to beat. Personally didn’t care for it for my typical tasks. I gave it to a friend just beats the tar out of it. One day I watched him struggle prepping food with it, so I also let him have my 3V Master Hunter... He still keeps that dang Strong Arm with him always.

      Thing’s I’ve watched my friend do with the Strong Arm I would cringe if it was one of my knives.
