My mother was always involved in the businesses, and I was just protecting her. She was always being attacked by my father, and many people listened to him. Most people didn't understand her role or the situation that my father asked her to be in. She was always being attacked and most people didn't understand her situation. I guess in the same situation you probably wouldn't try protecting your mother. I will always defend my mother! Drew promised me that he was going back to the very beginning through Hilly's on 9th Street in NYC to CBGB's and he didn't do that. I told him that I had much more than a CBGB story. Dew just sent me this... "People loved the show."

If you watch as Drew mentions the intelligent people as they were calling his live show, several of them said that I was a great guest and loved the show. Almost all of them seemed to be understood that I was defending my mother. They were a different group of people. Dew just sent me this... "People loved the show."

@@danakristal7760 You seemed like a guy talking about his life. I had no problem with it. Some of those subjects may be better kept private, but as far as the delivery, I'm often seen as aggressive in conversation as well because of my energy, totally understandable.
However, while I personally would have been interested in the other stories you mentioned, it is hard to imagine many people would be in this context.
An adventurous intrest in music or an obsession specifically with punk rock isn't really an overlapping intrest with New York history, a man and his family and their businesses, or the history of bars or clubs in the Bowery or any of that. If that was supposed to be the interview it should have been understood and billed that way.
Also, while they did do up the graffiti for that movie famously, it must have been worse, then cleaner, then changed for the movie because my local punk bar was designed after that style basically and they got the pictures from rock magazines from the 70s and 80s. I had some of these pictures on my wall growing up and this is all before 1992 or so without question.
It was famous back then, the bathroom condition.
But I also saw a before and after pic that shows _exactly the story you tell_ on the internet after the movie and in reference to the movie changes.
I'm absolutely certain I'm not mistaken as it was about five or six pictures I had on my wall, they didn't look like the sparse markings of the "before the movie" pictures but rather like that picture with Joey he showed. That may have even been one of the pictures. It was a whole subsection on the discussion of CBGBs in that reformed new Cream magazine I had. It was around the time GG Allin died as that was one of the adjacent stories I had on my bedroom walls ongoing collage at the time.
The whole stickers and tags everywhere and thick black paint wall thing was spawned by CBGBs and the Masque in L.A. or at least the idea was. Certainly it became embellished but the notion itself was popularized by those clubs. The whole idea of the look of the big city indie rock bar/punk rock bar comes from exactly these concepts.
I'm not saying you are completely wrong but I think the walls may have faded, been cleaned, or photographed from different angles at different times?
That said, the crowd on this channel are holding you to an absurd standard. Especially for a first person historical account interview like this.
You were generous with your time and it's appreciated.
If you were selling something or asking for something or putting yourself up for scrutiny in any way this would be different. But many people these days see all human interactions in these terms. It's not your job to make them feel comfortable or play along with their idea of proper etiquette. If some people are angry you probably did something right in most cases.
I have no idea why these people, happy to be jackals to absolute strangers with little or no provocation, also think they have some kind of say on some self defined standard that you should live up to and that it is somehow a universal value. That shit wasn't even true back when it was true, heh.
You have to come to people on their own terms, is what I'm saying. If they are abrasive to your sensibilities, then that is a fact about them like the color of their hair and not your personal business to correct.
You don't have to agree with my comment; I don't speak to agree, I express myself, and others can judge for themselves what to think about it. That's kind of my point.
There isn't a truth book somewhere with the right version of events delineated so I don't need to tell you this is all in my opinion of course.

Almost every one of the callers that Drew mentioned that were calling into the show while I was on liked what I was saying, understood that I was defending my mother and were intelligent... It appears that most of the above commentors are a small part of an uneducated special education group for adults. As a whole, the special education kids and adults are usually much more intelligent and understanding than they are.
