Remote Tuning My BUILT & BIG Turbo MINI // RPM Power 🔥

- Making the most out of all of the hardware upgrades on the MINI can only be done by changing out the stock software found on the Electronic Control Unit. The stock ECU is not designed to feed MY engine with the right amount of gas and is not able to create combustion at the right time to optimize power. My solution.. RPM POWER.
The guys at RPM POWER offered me a full engine tune for my MINI, while one of the most attractive features being a remote tune. I not only can choose different options in my tune such as varying amounts of boost, backfires, BBQ mode, flame mode, and a bunch of other features, but they have the possibility to tune your car WITHOUT having to send your ECU halfway across the world. I’ve seen other tuners require you to do that, which rends your car useless for days. RPM has not only overcome this problem, but their customer support is absolutely incredible. I had a problem installing the software onto my laptop since my computer was not fully updated and it is running Windows 7, and their team was more than eager to help me fix it. 10/10 would recommend you guys going with him to sort out your tuning needs. If your MINI is stock, or if it is completely built like mine, he’ll take care of you and will be able to custom tailor the tune for your ride, unlike a cookie-cutter tune.

3 Maps, All custom dialed in according your above listed setup.
All maps have ThermStat calibrated to run colder engine temps, 185F
Pops and bangs
Linear throttle map
3 level of boost, 1.35, 1.45, 1.55(bar)
Start with 1.35 map.
On another note, I purchased a replacement HPFP since mine is acting up on me, and I will be able to PROPERLY send my car and make full use of this tune. There are some things in this video that I was not able to show you due to my lack of fuel problem under load. Anyways, that will be remedied soon! Thanks for watching guys!!

You've invested so much time effort and money in that engine and you really don't want to skimp on the last 10% get it on a Dyno and have it tuned logged and set up correctly
I wish that was a possibility, however that isn't a possibility with these MINI ECU's unless you decide to run a standalone, which will cost upwards of $8K CAD
@@milanmastracci Why isn't it a possibility? Instead of remote tuning it, you go to the tuner and they run the car on dyno instead of the road and fix the file on the fly instead of having you to write a list with mods etc etc...
@@graikas I have looked into live tuning quite a bit for mini coopers, but unfortunately there is nothing out their. In Canada nobody tunes mini ECUs as far as I know on a dyno. A few shops in the U.S do it, but for a Mini in Canada you basically have to go with a canned tune.

he can't because he has to brake in and he cant redline so he had to get a pre-made tune to be able to drive the car until the brake-in ends

Hey man, my stock N14 had the same problem that you described with the misfires but only with hard acceleration. I could drive the car around if I babied it and you'd never know anything was wrong. Floor it, breaks up. What I did was replace my spark plugs and coils, and just that solved my problems. I don't know how that's going to translate to your motor, but food for thought. Cheers!
I’m having the exact same issue, but I have the N18. How many miles does your car have? I’m wondering if mine just has old spark plugs.
@@kingmercyful7975 I bought the car with 100k miles and replaced the plugs within the first hundred miles to NGK laser iridiums, they're unfortunately pricey. I don't know how old the previous set was because I didn't own it then.

If you could do a tutorial-ish video on the high pressure fuel pump It would be appreciated. Bimmer dudes one is pretty good but the more videos on it the better

You are missing plugs by after the maf, whart are and how to. Looks very clean
Like, every warning light on your dash is lit up
When you built it, should have brought it to the tuners and got it right the first time. That way they to could have dealt with the miss fire and made the tune clean and well. Plenty of people build motors and take it to the dyno.
Don't forget about the in tank fuel pump. The HPFP is nothing with out the in tank pump. I would replace it as well.
I really like the turbo blanket !! I'm guessing you noticed a big difference in the under hood heat after you installed it .
That either sounds like spark blow out (gap plugs down), or a fuel issue in the tune

You need to make logs some how and have a tune based off of actual numbers, not just modifications. I'm sure it's a safe tune though.
I just bought an OBD dongle to do exactly that. I'm looking forward to seeing what figures we get from it, as my HPFP is the limiting factor at this point.

Hey! Did you end up swapping your HPFP? Mine has the same issue, I don't really want to swap it.
I have a quick question regarding the new laws about enforcing the tuning of cars. Will this no longer work soon? I know cobb tuners you have to be hooked up to their network every time you want to run the car. I'm asking because I'm wondering if i need to order this sooner rather then later if they have to quit making them..

Just got my stage 2 RPM tune from Mario out of California, my mini rips and is pretty terrifying. 21.88 max psi normal, 29 psi in sport

Oskar Movilla yeah, I was staring down my boost gauge, I assume the overboost in 3-6 is a percentage based increase. ie) it goes from 9-11 psi in stock maps

Hey man I have an 09 R56 and I'm having exact same problem with the dashboard lights as well as the passenger light. Any idea what it was? I went to multiple forums and even the mini dealership. No one know what's going on. What did you do? I would appreciate your reply! Thanks!
It’s probably because the tune is for American gas, it’s a better gas, don’t rush to the HPFP yet!!

Thank you for not putting the manic misfire tune on your mini. Bytetronik makes a standalone system for minis. You can tune everything to the perfect specs on a lap top, on the fly.

I was told by a tuner that these tunes are not designed with the acceleration curve in mind. Meaning these tunes are designed to run full acceleration, or idle. Nothing in between, so you won't have any problems at full throttle, or very light throttle, but if you slowly put your accelerator down, a quarter way, or half way to the floor then the cars is not getting the correct fuel/air ratios to fire correctly. Causing a misfire, and pre detonation. Bytetronik will allow a tuner to put your mini on a dyno and get everything running perfectly. This Rpm tune is the exact same as manic tunes, and jp tunes. These guys selling you this garbage wont tell you this, but they'll take your money.

@@mikkelr1 there is no dyno tuning available for Minis at the moment. This is the only way to go at the moment unless you go the standalone ECU route, which is also a pay in the ass.
