    Hayase: “Valkyrie-1, Fox 1!!”
    Takeru: “Valkyrie-2, Fox 1!!”
    *Both launching missiles*
    Hayase: “Valkyrie-1, Fox 3!!”
    Takeru: “Valkyrie-2, Fox 3!!”
    *Both switch to 36mm bullets*
One of my favorite parts in the game.

It's not a game. Unless I missed out on the gameplay somewhere?

@@CandorHispanus A visual novel is still a game, unless of course you want to take it up on a master's degree about what even is a game.

@@nerobernardino88 Does Muv Luv have any gameplay? No. There is no gameplay. And no, decisions don't count, unless you consider CYOA books "games" as well. It being software with anime tropes and a traditional game menu and saves does not a game make. Gameplay makes games. In fact VNs without gameplay being tied to games hurts their chances to be more popular; they'd do better marketing to the reader market. Calling something without gameplay a game is illogical. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

@@CandorHispanus CYOA books are actually called "Gamebooks". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamebook

@@lunncal5000 So? Wikipedia, really? A gamebook is not a game per se. It's a book for tabletop RPGs, which _are_ games. That's the equivalent of calling a videogame manual a game. If anyone's calling CYOA books "gamebooks" that's just a misnomer presumably to skirt copyright as can be read on the article you yourself linked. You do do realize CYOA is a copyrighted term?
You should've linked the Wikipedia article for Visual Novel. It agrees with what I've said.
Calling something A doesn't follow that it is A. Words may also have multiple senses; hunters call animals "game". Do you have a pet? Is it a game? Why not? You play with your pets after all!
See? Logical fallacies. A visual novel without gameplay is literature, a software "Light Novel". Simple as
Not sure why weebs/gamers get the cooties when told they've read a book as a computer program but here we are
