@@knightkid1235 well, i mean a continuation would see a couple things different in the buu arc
(1) : Gohan and the others train much harder, trying to surpass Cell's Peak strength. So, uh, Gohan is going to absolutely roll Buu given the chance most likely.
(2) : Vegeta probably sees Gohan as a rival instead, as goku is out of the picture.
(3) : Instead of Super Saiyan Three, I imagine Goku deciding to experiment more with Super Kaioken.
(4) : Gohan gets (somehow) even more PTSD.
This video is awesome but it frustrates me to no end that fan voice actors try to mimic Sean Schemmel and Christopher Sabat because they’re bad people and they suck now. Why not try to emulate the Ocean Studios voice actors?

Gokus voice actor is an absolute legend.

In my opinion, goku's biggest mistake wasn't telling gohan to fight cell. It was giving cell a senzu bean
Considering cell could get stronger the more he fought, yeah it was pretty stupid.
He gave Cell a bean because he knew that even with it, Gohan would still destroy him with his hidden power, so it was more so him being confident in his son's abilities. He ended up being right in the end, but when he thought he had to step in, he thought it was a mistake in that moment, at least.
He’s still a f**k boy for that one tho.

I'll be honest: I personally believe this is overall a better conclusion to the cell saga than what we got, although the original still has its merits. Bravo to the writers, artists, and voices!

Vegeta trying to end Cell like he did Nappa was funny. Also, throwing Cell upwards and using Final Flash from below was a nice show of Vegeta learning from the past: he could use full force directly on Cell instead of having to aim away to avoid destroying the planet.
Too bad it didn't work, but props for the effort.

Honestly, Cell was right about one thing. They were only able to beat him because they were working together to combine their power. It was only that he made the mistake of pushing the Kaioken to X4 without knowing the consequences that he got a major disadvantage.
goku not using kaioken in cannon was dumb

It certainly feels more satisfying to have the Z fighters defeat a fusion of them via a 'fusion' attack. Don't get me wrong, I was 11 when I saw this and loved Gohan, but this story is definitely more narratively satisfying!
This makes an infinitely better story than the way the Cell Games actually played out. One of the worst problems with Goku is his inability to grow as a person because the plot bails him out of his BIGGEST mistakes.

It would’ve been a lot worse than the way it played out. The whole arc is about Gohan growing. Goku literally doesn’t get bailed out for anything, he dies in the end of the arc.
how is he bailed out? he has to deal with the guilt of making his son fight when he didnt want to, I guarantee if Goku knew what he learned in the cell games beforehand he would have trained to the max to try and prevent gohan being needed to fight. AND HE DIES, how is he bailed?

gohan didnt hesitate to fight or kill in the past. he fought with the intent to kill when necessary. and he wasnt arrogant or sadistic in the past, and despite supposedly learning not to be, he does it again with Buu and fails in that arc worse than hes ever failed before.
Rising Fist's story telling is Pure. Unadulterated. Badass.

Amazing how you were able to give Cell a happy ending, in a way he's a satisfied villain, what a lovely fact, he died perfectly! Whatever the interpretation, the cell arc is still by far the best arc of dragon ball bar none! Wonderful retelling rising fist and crew!

cell making goku watch gohan get killed was so gut wrenching
25:35 i think that cell was stronger only because goku got ssj2 on top of all his injuries, he took cell on with those as well, and he managed to support himself throughout the fight only because of his pure, unadultered fury... But, if he was at full health, or at least at something like 70/80%, he would have defeated cell... Or at least him and gohan surely would have done it once cell used kaioken, if that happened
In this timeline, Majin Buu is a non-factor. Ultimate Gohan before the tournament plus he kept training over the 7 years. he solos Dabura and even if Babidi manages to get Buu resurrected, Ultimate Gohan would solo him easily. Vegeta should be SSJ2 without the Majin form to due to training with a motivated Gohan. Whis might resurrect Goku by Super anyway for the ritual, so everything is similar from there, just a much stronger Gohan and slightly stronger Vegeta. Gohan might get SSJB as well.

Vegeta already had SSJ2 before the Majin ritual. But I get what u mean. Regardless if he has the form or not he would be way stronger and wouldn’t need Babidi’s help.
I imagine Goku mastered Super Saiyan 3 along with being a bit stronger in this timeline but Gohan just flat out sh*ts on Buutenks (potentially even Buuhan lvl) after getting his Ultimate Form & training it for 7 years.
In terms of other arcs, Gohan would epically fight Frieza in Resurrection F and would eventually win, the Universe 6 tournament happens the same, especially with Goku Black & Zamasu, then in the Tournament Of Power, Gohan would stay longer and probably help Goku, Vegeta, & 17 fight Jiren
By your logic I don't think it is possible for Gohan to be Ultimate Gohan without the supreme Kai. So at best after those 7 years before the appearances of Babidi, Dabura and the Kai's he would be a SSJ3 but mastered it. And I bet Vegeta wouldn't that far off mastering the SSJ3 form. Knowing Vegeta he couldn't handle Goku surpassing him and leaving him behind so the son Gohan of Goku who is a half breed would make Vegeta feel more angry about that thought. So best believe Vegeta does everything to keep up or try to surpass Gohan.
I like this version because at least he doesn’t start training after seven years because that’s the one thing that really did it for me in the anime and I hope - in the next video or the following video he doesn’t get his energy of Sort to bring back margin boo

i think goku knew exactly what he was doing with the cenzu: playing with vegeta's ego.
After the cenzu, Cell was full of power and full of arrogance. after the cenzu he got slightly stronger and then he KNEW all of the fighters together couldnt do anything to him. And imagine you are a perfect being and the only source of fun is in front of you. Also, just like vegeta was interested in cell's full power, cell was also interested in gohan's full power especially with the goku's weird behavior. If the cenzu was a bad deal, cell wouldnt have created the minions, cell jrs, but would have killed gohan immediately.
goku was sure of that hence why he took such a dumb risk.
cell did get slightly tired after the fight and if he would have fought gohan, a character stronger than goku, he might have lost his patience and used full power early on.
That "how dare you" showed that Goku really cared about Gohan and thought he could really take on cell he wasn't a fool... He was just a father that wanted his son to be better than him.. a thing every father wants...

This story will always hold a special place in my heart. The raw emotion that can be felt, and the fact that the story uses Shenron and reconnects to the original story. My favorite moment will always be the Super Kaioken moment, it just shows that Goku knows he has to go all or nothing against Cell
Speaking of Shenron, they just had him waiting all the live-long day until they returned.
I do wonder how This what if would Go From there,i know the Difference would not be THAT Much,but after Dying like that and having Goku Die like to save then All,i think this Gohan would have actually kept Training no Matter what,and Goku would Already Have Ssj 2 and after using It with Kaioken,that could be something he could spend time into mastering,or use It as a Blueprint for Ssj 3

Gotta admit I like the everyone together taking down Cell ending a bit more than the actual ending. After the Androids, Vegeta and Goku all screwing around wanting to have fun with one on one fights all the while Trunks warns them to take this seriously, it actually bites them in the ass and they all group up to put aside pride for the sake of taking down Cell together

I love this spin off of the cell saga; if anything, I feel as though it makes goku a better character by showing his love for his son instead of what we've actually seen. Although we know that goku loves gohan and goten, it doesn't feel like it, the voice acting helped bring the emotion to life too, gave me goosebumps.

This battle was about survival and preserving life, Goku's mistake led to the end of his own life, that should have been another consolation prize for Cell.

But Gohan dying and Goku attaining Super Saiyan 2 through it could've been a really good way to actually go about the storyline if their plan was to keep Goku relevant.

I couldn’t imagine this being in the actual anime. If this was in the anime, dbz would have been way more brutal than it already is.
It would have set a better tone for going into the Buu Saga. Then Gohan's choices make more sense.
Love all the twists, especially with the ending! Haven't yet looked into if you continued this story or not, but if so, Majin Buu would have to immediately be born as Super Buu and absorb someone strong to even stand a chance with both SSJ3 Goku AND Ultimate Gohan around. Also, I had a feeling that Vegeta and Gohan would come in on Goku's end of the beam struggle, and thus I had to smile when I saw it happen!

The interesting thing about this is how it actually punishes Goku for probably his biggest character flaw: His Naivety.
