I love this mod and almost every time I replay ZG I play with this mod, sometimes I still play the OG, but still, it is a really fun and good way to play the game for me personally I do have my gripes with it though, my biggest one being that I don't really enjoy it returning the types to the characters, it ends up making some Extreme Gears nerfed and end up butching their mechanics, one of the most fun parts of ZG to me is having to think about which gear you'll choose and if it will be worth it, if you're up to give in your typing, or other types to use what you want, in OG Riders choosing a gear makes a difference, but it's not that big because each character has their type, and Regravitified ends up making it the same way Each character already usually has by default an Extreme Gear which grants them their type anyway, but by giving them by default, without even having to upgrade, makes upgrading the Gear to allow you to use your type useless, and it ends up making the tracks too boring because you can get the exact same route in all 3 laps, the fun of ZG was thinking if it was worth it to save rings to upgrade another thing on your gear, or upgrade what you can now, and if you're not able to upgrade your typing yet, you'd get another route, one that does not require your type, until you upgrade it and can acess other areas in later laps, it also makes all the players start the race equally, they start on a status quo, playing all the same (aside from stats) until they upgrade gaining their own unique abilities That for me makes Regravitified sadly a lot simpler than OG ZG
Sonic Riders and Zero Gravity were great games. I never got to experience Free Riders cause I could never afford a connect, but I absolutely loved what I played of the series and glad to see it's still getting love even to this day.
I actually have a friend @AccelerateHedge that knows the ins and outs of the original version of Sonic Riders Zero Gravity. He's especially knowledgeable about the trick system, which may be simple compared to Riders, but not as lacking in depth as everyone claims. There are a few things that Regravitified removes and adds that he feels makes it worse by trying to be more like Riders 1, while not considering how those mechanics affect the game.
“Best of *BOTH* worlds” I love how we’re just pretending Free Riders didn’t exist. I mean, *rightfully so,* don’t misunderstand me, but it’s still funny nonetheless.
I mean, it's talking more about how Regravitified takes mechanics from Riders while keeping the original gimmicks from Zero Gravity, I don't think it NEEDED to mention Free Riders Plus, I think Free Riders has pretty fun mechanics, tracks, level design, etc. Literally the main problem of the game was the controller he was made for, the No Kinect Patch is a blessing and makes the game so much fun, just as fun as the first one too
This looks like such a cool mod! Riders 1 and Zero Gravity were my childhood and I miss the sliding through corners and free boost. Nice they added them! Also does anyone know what the song for the 90s Boulevard is? Never heard it before and it sounds cool!
is there an option to use the original soundtrack instead of random ones? i remember playing a modded version of the first Riders, and while the gameplay changes were great, the random ass music made me sick of it and ruined the mod for me. i absolutely love the original soundtracks of the rider games, and having them stripped off is a massive downgrade for me
So saying that the songs are "random" is only half true, you can pick songs by holding down certain directions on the d pad or certain buttons, and all stages always have an option for the original song, im just not sure if the transitions for gravity dive and stuff were kept in tact is the only thing
I finally got my laptop now, can you show me how to download Sonic Riders DX and Regravified? These mods look so freaking Awesome. I just hate that Sega had time to remaster Sonic Colors and now Sonic Generations with a whole Shadow The Hedgehog Dark Origin Story and even Classic Sonic gets new games made like Sonic Superstars for Example. But Sonic Riders doesn't get a Second Chance of Remastering after they messed up Zero Gravity and Free Riders especially Super Sonic?
From the website, they've got a section for downloads. www.exgearlabs.org/downloads Once you get there, you're going to need to download "ExGL Dolphin." (Though having a recent version of regular Dolphin seems to work fine as well). From there you also need to have a *regular* Sonic Riders and *regular* Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity ISO (for both of them). If you have them, then you download "Sonic Riders DX" and "Sonic Riders Regravitified." They're going to be patchers, since you'll have to patch the *regular* versions of the two Riders games mentioned. You can also head to their Discord and get the downloads there: discord.com/invite/49yFnSSJUP
Love the explanations and showcases, though I wasn't a big fan of the hamfisted "Despite that being far from the truth" at the start. Gave me a vibe of conceit, as someone who preferred Zero G to the first for that exact reason.
@Exor_680 by nostalgia I meant growing up i really loved sonic and didn't know English yet so aside from the sonic x dub I couldn't actually understand the menus The entire idea of a sonic game being in Hebrew is nostalgic to me, Simlair to how Minecraft for Wii didnt exist until it was home-brewed but the nostalgia is still there The Hebrew version I did mention is mentioned on the Extreme labs website which I'm guessing is being done cause one of the Devs is Israeli I am asking if that translation is already implemented or if it needs more work
As someone who loves zero gravity and wished they could play the first game, this looks awesome!!! I assume to play the mod i need to put it into the original game right?
Instead of using one button press, you have to hold the jump button, *then* release at the end of the ramp. No directional inputs are needed once you go in the air like in the first game. You don't need to use your control stick to influence jump height either. Essentially, it's partly like the original Riders, but also still the simplified trick system. Just with the one-button press requirement removed. Less about having a precise button press.

It looks much more fun to play now without zero gravity's restrictions. Hopefully you can also get the AI up to speed! I do have mixed feelings about being able to activate and use the running boosts at will. Why would you not use them every lap? It feels like they need to be nerfed somehow

very impressive work id say saying that as someone who was playing both game recently
I love this game

I feel torn about the on-foot shortcuts. I feel like with some tracks, using them every lap is a must. It makes optimal routing feel weird to me.
And we're proud to announce... Coming soon, Gravity... 2!
Bruh i WISH sega made another riders/zg game man it's been years 😭

This Golden age game still had some modders. Damn i miss this game when i was kid i was the best kid in neighborhood no one even can't beat me😢
Thanks for this

My favorite spin off geting a mod feels really good
I wont lie, the game is a lot more exciting to look at.
it genuinely just looks so much more fun now

Is the Hebrew version mentioned on the site in this version? It would be nice to use for more nostalgia

You would need the original game, yes. Then, you should download the mod and patch it in.

you hold a different d-pad (i think) direction for each song
I couldn't tell, but is the trick system fixed in any way?

This is based on the Wii version, so no.

Let's make a 2nd racing game but without speed. Genius at sega.
It most certainly feels ill-advised when it has Sonic's name tied to it especially.
