@@ronmurray7349 That’s not what happened. They were going to pit Piastri first but Norris was scared of being undercut by Hamilton. They told Norris they would pit him first to cover Hamilton on the condition he swapped back with Piastri (after the Hamilton threat was neutralized) since he was taking priority that wasn’t supposed to be his. They did the undercut and Norris wasn’t swapping back like he was supposed to.
Norris isn’t wholly at fault, but he knew what the conditions were when he asked to pit early. That wasn’t his stop to take and he doesn’t get to whine after the fact because he didn’t get to steal the win from Piastri. Piastri has done the same for him plenty of times before and never so much as complained.

To be fair though, Max was right. Looking at the race, he got screwed over multiple times through strategy. Max very much could have been in contention for the win or P2, but his team allowed him to be undercut multiple times - because normally, Max is fast enough and has a car that lets him pass people easily on track.
He made a mistake, yes. But he was being ignored and talked down to after being repeatedly screwed over on strategy, run wide, etc. all race with zero action on his team's end from his perception.
Every single "great driver" is hotheaded. Schumacher and Senna crashed people. Kimi literally just went to party instead of going to a team meeting after a dnf. Vettel was NOTORIOUSLY hotheaded. Lewis was considered a danger, and even recently had to be asked by his team principal to stop complaining and drive the car.

So we have Max approaching T1 way too fast and he locks all 4 wheels and slides straight on, towards the outside of the corner. He can’t turn because his brakes are locked and he can’t stop for the same reason. At this point we would say that Max’s car is out-of-control. As Martin would say “he out-braked himself”. I can’t believe that Max drove too fast and locked his brakes on purpose. Dare I say it “Max made a mistake”.
