Lol you just stumbled upon the FASTEST way in the world to grow a TH-cam channel. There's millions of us Pentaholics. Keep up the PTX reactions and watch your sub numbers skyrocket!
You're right - they were on Sesame Street more than once - what a way to remember them - you're the first reactor I've heard who recognize them from those appearances. Everything else they've done (well, except for the Ninja Turtles) is pretty grown up! Enjoy - you'll like their medleys - Michael Jackson, Rhianna, Beyonce?
I get that you're speechless...this group takes quite a few people that way when they first hear them. These guys ( and gal) have been around for the last 10 years doing music together and in that time have won 3 Grammy's and have a nomination for a fourth ( for their album Evergreen) . They've also been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Anytime these guys do a cover of a song, they always upgrade the song. They also have some original music as well. They do songs in quite a few genres and sort of specialize in Christmas songs. Members: Blonde guy = Scott Hoying, baritone Dark haired guy with the high voice = Mitch Grassi, counter tenor Blonde lady = Kirstin ( Kirstie) Maldonado, mezzo soprano Guy in the check jacket = Matt Sallee, bass Beatboxer = Kevin Olusola, tenor, cellist, sax player Want some song suggestions? Daft Punk, Bohemian Rhapsody ( if you don't know this song, then maybe check out Queen's original first), Sound of Silence, Blinding Lights, Can't Hold Us, Radioactive ( feat Lindsey Sterling on her violin and Kevin on his cello), Say Something, Happy Now, You're a Mean One Mr Grinch, Halleujah, Little Drummer Boy.
They sound just as good live!! Welcome to Perfect-atonix- You will enjoy this ride! Your commentary at the end was 😂. They always leave me speechless, too, and I have watched them hundreds of times.
Also multi platinum, and sung the national anthem at college football championship, pentaholics was that last year? They also just did incognito on the masked singer reality talent show. Watch the finale esp. They can cover any genre, from rock to classical, from rap to jazz, r &b to edm, Broadway to country. They mostly were known as a Christmas band but are branching out more now and HOPE they start getting radio play.
We could provide an endless list of songs from PTX that you just have to listen to, but it is easiest if you just do a search on Pentatonix and go for it. Most of their work is strictly acapella, though Kevin, the beatboxer, sometimes plays cello. They've been doing this since 2011, have won three Grammys and are currently nominated for a fourth. The only member that was changed was the base from Avi to Matt in 2017 for personal reasons, not conflict. In fact Avi pretty much chose his replacement. Have fun and enjoy the ride.
@@badmama1962 If what you say is true, then I apologize. My own impression (false?) came from early comments from a usually reliable source, but not first-hand. I have never seen any interviews that address the issue either way. Regardless, I still feel that they found a winner in Matt. Certainly, he is not Avi, just like Avi is not Matt. They are both gifted, hard-working, and worthy of respect
You need to go down the Pentatonix rabbit hole start with love again and check them all! This is one special talented group! One change at bass over the years from Avi to Matt
They are simply the best at what they do, no if's buts, or doubts. They only have a couple hundred upgrades and originals......deep, deep rabbit hole. Just to throw straight numbers, there are 19 million subscribers to PTX, They have over 5 BILLION TH-cam views, next a Capella group is at about 500 million. That beat boxer (Kevin Olusola) is a total freak of nature in everything, Cellist, Beatbox master, Instrument and Sound effects maker, Yale Med School, Speaks Mandarin Chinese, Produces, Recording engineer, Loops, Sings (yes he is great at that too!!!!)Dude is S I C K!!!!
I think the biggest addition when you use headphones is you get a much better appreciation of the bass. But yes - headphones are a big plus when listening to PTX
Scott Hoying (blond, baritone), Mitch Grassi (dark, counter tenor), Kirstin (Kirstie) Maldonado (alto), Matt Sallee (bass), and the brilliant Kevin Olusola (beat boxer, tenor, cellist). Your reaction to Mitch’s high notes we call a “Mitch-slap”.
I just subscribed. I hope you do more Pentatonix. They do a Michael Jackson medley, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande and so much more. Looking forward to watching you react to more.
Yes it is all vocal, and yes it is amazing! And they run the whole range of genres. They have 3 Emmy-winning song that are EDM/ElectroPop, Classical, and Country respectively, and have been nominated for Best Traditional Pop album this year. A lot of times, people end up with Hallelujah, Daft Punk, and Bohemian Rhapsody to start out and get a sense of all the different things they can do. Their three Emmy-winning songs are Daft Punk, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies, and Jolene (with Dolly Parton). But literally anything you pick to watch next will be amazing. They don't miss, ever. And they pride themselves on not putting out anything they can't do live.
Apparently, their appearance on Sesame Street is about their 5th most watched video.😃 I'm amazed that you managed to get through this without their company blocking it.
I don't think I'll ever stop being amazed by Pentatonix. You should hear them live, they are exactly the save, or even better. They do a bunch of things like this where they transition from one song to the next the way they do, here. This is a fairly recent one. Others are in their "Evolution of" series and include Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Ariana Grande. I think Rihanna is my favorite, but MJ is pretty epic. They also mash up songs like geniuses. Some examples include "LaLa Latch" and "New Rules/Are You That Somebody." They seldom incorporate instruments, and you spotted Kevin, their beatboxer (he also sings and occasionally accompanies them on cello). They have several Christmas albums, plus albums of covers and originals in pretty much every genre. On top of that, there is great solo music by each of the individual members, plus Superfruit, which is two of them, Mitch and Scott. And yes, they were on Sesame Street, lol, but they also have 3 Grammys and are nominated for a fourth this year. If you go down this rabbit hole, we are with you. You'll need to know there was one personnel change about 6 years ago, their original bass, Avi, left and was replaced by Matt. Everyone else remains the same since they debuted on, and won, "The Sing Off" Season 3 over a decade ago, but they change their looks dramatically, especially Mitch and Kirstin who are fashion chameleons, so if you are ever in doubt, yes, they are the same people.
If I could give ONE suggestion it would be this....Get some HEADPHONES.....you're missing out on some good stuff.....then you will get ALL the harmonies!!
I absolutely agree about the headphones. There are so many layers and subtle background sounds that are produced that you cannot possibly hear them without a set of good headphones. The song sounds entirely different when you have a set of headphones on.
Loved your reaction. Pentatonix hits us all like that when we first discover their awesome talent. Subbing for more Pentatonix reactions. They own Christmas music. So please give them a try!💕💕
New subscriber because I LOVED your reaction to this incredible group. If you like big, luscious anthems, try Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Prayers for This World and Hallelujah. If you want to see their Grammy winners, listen to their Daft Punk medley, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Jolene with Dolly Parton. Want some fun bops? Try Come Along, Making Christmas and Sing. Looking for emotion? Listen to Say Something, Imagine and Amazing Grace. Or, honestly, any title at all, they are all good. I’m here for all the PTX you want to do. Peace from Ohio … (Oh, their label is fierce about blocking. You may want to layer some text over the video.)
There's nothing better than a first time reaction. I LOVED it, so much. First time viewer and an instant subscriber. Please, please oh please do more Pentatonix. They are simply amazing. Believe it or not, they are even better live. I agree that there is a HUGE playlist to choose from. As us pentaholics say, welcome to the rabbit hole. I will be here waiting for each and every step. Thank you for your time and appreciation for this group and the magic that they create. Take care and be safe until I see you again. Hope and joy to all. Don't forget to pass it on. =^;^=
They also do this live: th-cam.com/video/dayLYxvjKGs/w-d-xo.html :) enjoy that! In all seriousness, I'm sure other commenters will give you a run down, but this group is INSANELY talented, and you really can't go wrong reacting to ANY of their stuff; it's ALL phenomenal! And they have a TON of Christmas stuff which is fun! Subbed for more! Loved this reaction :)
Welcome to the Pentatonix family!!! We are happy to have you!! ❤️❤️ if you choose to continue down this rabbit hole of AMAZING artistry, here are some of the MUST listen to performances : - Sound of Silence - Bohemian Rhapsody - Can You Feel The Love Tonight - Hallelujah - Daft Punk Medley - Imagine
Since you are just discovering them at this time of the year, you might like to know that Pentatonix is well known for their Xmas albums too, in addition to the medleys and covers of pop music and rock classics. For their most recent, I suggest their recent collaboration with Meghan Trainor called Kid on Christmas. (The song is very Xmas-y; the video less so.) Also amazing are their 12 days of Christmas, You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch, and I Saw Three Ships. For older Xmas songs of theirs, try O Come All Ye Faithful, Little Drummer Boy, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Carol of the Bells, and their Grammy winner Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (AKA When a Band with No Instruments Performs a Song with No Words.😝) Evergreen is a nice sappy original Xmas song of theirs off their album of the same name. in their older songs you will see Pentatonix original bass singer Avi, instead of the current bass singer, Matt (in the red jacket/blue and black checkerboard jacket in this video). Matt replaced Avi amicably in 2017. Otherwise the group members are all the same. Reactors new to Pentatonix are sometimes confused by the ever changing looks of Kirstie (the girl) or Mitch (the guy with the mustache and the high voice), but it is always them. Scott (tall blond baritone) and Kevin (the beatboxer) tend to look much the same.
Welcome to Pentatonix or PTX and their fans are called Pentaholics. It's December so you might check out any of their 7 Christmas albums and one NBC Christmas show. You will get hundreds of comments and subscribers if you follow PTX. Many will recommend their most views, Hallelujah or their first Grammy, Daft Punk. Take an old boring song and watch them bring it to life. Highly recommend "O Come All Ye Faithfull" and watch Kevin the Beatboxer pay tribute to his parents with an African vibe. Several "Evolution of Michael Jackson" or Beyonce or any of over 300 songs. Have fun
The three main vocalists, Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin, sang together in high school as The Trio. That’s why their harmonies are so tight. Copyrighting is harsh so you may need to pause and comment more and use image filters. We pentaholics are use to it. Recommend their version of Bohemian Rhapsody. The original bass, Avi, is in it. Subscribed.
We’re with you, most of us were the same way the first time we heard this song. You might want to check out Can’t Hold Us. it’s got their former bass singer on it, but they show just how much they can do. Some serious bars my friend
Loved your reaction!!! If you want to see Kevin (the beatboxer) really shine, along with the others, check out Deft Punk. They won a Grammy for this video. Think you will love it!
This group is amazing some suggestions for you to react to.... The prayer Sound of silence Daft punk Love again (original song) Halelujah Amazing grace Oh come all ye faithful Cant hold us There are so many amazing videos by this group i would urge you to check out more from them.
Your reaction to PTX just got you a new subscriber. Just so I can watch the journey we Pentaholics love to see. Can't wait for more Pentatonix. You will enjoy it even more with a set of headphones or earbuds. There's so much detail in their music that it's a must! Thanks for checking them out and being blown away.
That was an awesome first reaction and shout out to your sister who clearly knew her audience! You might be the first reactor ever to recognize them from Sesame Street and holy crap did that make me feel old 😂. Sub’d for more PTX.
Come on….let’s go down this rabbit hole. They have been around for 11 years….they’re awesome. You’ll get lots of subs if you play more of them….they have a huge fan base.
Your channel will get swamped by Pentaholics. Some of the nicest people around and passionate about this group. Can't go wrong with any of their stuff but I would hit Daft Punk, Hallelujah, or Sound of Silence. The great part comes when you realize they can do all their music live. I still get chills listening to them.
Better late than never. Now they did use autotune on this one as homage to the era but the majority of the time it is just voices. Scott the blonde plays piano on a couple. The beatboxer Kevin is amazing. He sings and plays cello as well. You need to try their evolution songs to see Kevin go crazy.
You should also check out these other Pentatonix videos - you won't be disappointed: Hallelujah (Official Video) Oct 21, 2016: th-cam.com/video/LRP8d7hhpoQ/w-d-xo.html Hallelujah (Live Version) Dec 22, 2016: th-cam.com/video/haFHrfmfHbc/w-d-xo.html Bohemian Rhapsody (Official Video) Apr 7, 2017: th-cam.com/video/ojRj2JK5oCI/w-d-xo.html Daft Punk Medley (Official Video) Nov 5, 2013: th-cam.com/video/3MteSlpxCpo/w-d-xo.html Imagine (Official Video) Mar 10, 2017: th-cam.com/video/NLiWFUDJ95I/w-d-xo.html Run to You (Original Song) Jan 30, 2014: th-cam.com/video/sp7PS_UN8Lo/w-d-xo.html Say Something (Official Video) Feb 24, 2014: th-cam.com/video/0dYlvdLdK9w/w-d-xo.html The Sound of Silence (Official Video) Feb 15, 2019: th-cam.com/video/gdVjVtpr55M/w-d-xo.html (the bass singer in this one, Matt Sallee, replaced Avi Kaplan, who left the group in 2017) Amazing Grace (Official Video) Nov 5, 2020: th-cam.com/video/Obp-9BEZe1c/w-d-xo.html The Prayer (Official Video) Oct 29, 2021: th-cam.com/video/wnvzwAPqniU/w-d-xo.html
PTX was my gateway drug to acapella. They have some AWESOME tunes, you will find them. Two other groups to be aware of Voice Play, and Home Free. I'd recommend "man of constant sorrow" from Home Free, just sayin'
I LOVE PENTATONIX!! Just subscribed to your channel in the hopes you do more! Me and all the Pentaholics will love you for it! 🥰 Their catalog is huge with covers (Upgrades) and originals. They also have Christmas albums.......they own Christmas lol I won't listen to anything else!! Great reaction!!!
It's always fun to watch someone discover Pentatonix. For transitions, I recommend The Evolution of Michael Jackson. th-cam.com/video/NJmFrLkc4Y8/w-d-xo.html To hear the Bass and Beatboxer go off, try their original Coffee in Bed. th-cam.com/video/bGOnI9kWOyk/w-d-xo.html For harmonies, try their rendition of Sounds of Silence. th-cam.com/video/gdVjVtpr55M/w-d-xo.html They have been at this since 2011. Three Grammy awards. Multi-platinum albums And, yes, the bass singer changed in 2017. Please wear headphones or ear buds. You are missing a lot.
and to see them live, try Joyful, Joyful (from Sister Act 2) from last year's Christmas tour th-cam.com/video/Us8Px4PAsjw/w-d-xo.html (We do not yet have a professional recording from the current Christmas tour which is in progress.)
Great reaction and new sub here. Pentatonix are amazing and there is so many songs of there’s to choose from. look forward to seeing more reactions from them
Hi and thanks for the enjoyable reaction. Please react to Prayers for this World (new) and Where are you Christmas? (older). Both fantastic and quite moving in different ways. You'll also enjoy their evolution videos (Rhianna, Ariana Grande, etc.) Live shows are great, too. (Esp. anything recorded by Miles Reuben). As others have said, there are SO many in almost every genre - search and keep reacting.
You will definitely become addicted to them. You should react to their Christmas music since its December then get into their other songs. I could listen to them all day.
Hoping for more PTX! Some words of advice; since this medley is made up of several songs that are only a few seconds each, there's little risk for copyright infringement. But if you were to do any of their other videos that are not medleys, you might have to pause more often or make the video transparent. Some who react will put words over the video like "Copyright" to avoid getting the reaction blocked. Also, headphones are a must! You hear so much more of what's going on in the background when listening to PTX with headphones.
Ok so the next three you need to watch are New Rule x Are You That Somebody, Evolution of Rhianna, and Evolution of Ariana Grande, then come back to me and I'll give you more recs LOL
I have never been to this channel before...subscribe for more PTX....don't give up with copyright issues. Cover video with screen, it'll help. Man, pick ANYTHING...it's incredible. And welcome to the rabbit hole....LOL
I LOVE YOU!!
🥰😍😘
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR DOING MY REACTION REQUEST!!!
My first ever pinned comment 🥰
Pentatonix is the ELITE, PREMIER, GOLD STANDARD of A Capella. They don't do "covers" they UPGRADE them.
Lol you just stumbled upon the FASTEST way in the world to grow a TH-cam channel. There's millions of us Pentaholics. Keep up the PTX reactions and watch your sub numbers skyrocket!

This group is amazing some suggestions for you to react to....
The prayer
Sound of silence
Daft punk
Love again (original song)
Halelujah
Amazing grace
Oh come all ye faithful
Cant hold us
There are so many amazing videos by this group i would urge you to check out more from them.
Yeah, it's always great to watch someone listening to PTX for the first time. 🙂 Thanks for your reaction.
BTW: you have a beautiful smile 😊
Come on….let’s go down this rabbit hole. They have been around for 11 years….they’re awesome. You’ll get lots of subs if you play more of them….they have a huge fan base.
Pentatonix is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Subbed in the hope for more, I promise u won’t be disappointed ❤️🙌🙌
keep watching them- they are incredible- and amazing live, too! :). you are officially in the Pentatonix rabbit hole! :)
If you liked this: Next: PTX daft punk medley!
Nice reaction video!
I subscribed for more Pentatonix reactions. And yes you’ve seen them on Sesame Street.
Better late than never. Now they did use autotune on this one as homage to the era but the majority of the time it is just voices. Scott the blonde plays piano on a couple. The beatboxer Kevin is amazing. He sings and plays cello as well. You need to try their evolution songs to see Kevin go crazy.
You should also check out these other Pentatonix videos - you won't be disappointed:

Always love seeing a first time reaction to PTX. Esp the dawning moment of the a capella part. There are soooo many songs that will blow your mind. ❤
Yup all a capella - everything done with their mouths! :)
PTX was my gateway drug to acapella. They have some AWESOME tunes, you will find them.
Two other groups to be aware of Voice Play, and Home Free. I'd recommend "man of constant sorrow" from Home Free, just sayin'
use headphones makes the experience better
yes Pentatonix!!! I'm subscribing for more!! they are an incredible Acapella group.
You should see this one live... no question that everything is voice only
More Pentatonix please. Thanks.
You must wear headphones when listening to PTX
It's always fun to watch someone discover Pentatonix.
For transitions, I recommend The Evolution of Michael Jackson.

To hear the Bass and Beatboxer go off, try their original Coffee in Bed.

For harmonies, try their rendition of Sounds of Silence.

They have been at this since 2011. Three Grammy awards. Multi-platinum albums
And, yes, the bass singer changed in 2017.
Please wear headphones or ear buds. You are missing a lot.
and to see them live, try Joyful, Joyful (from Sister Act 2) from last year's Christmas tour th-cam.com/video/Us8Px4PAsjw/w-d-xo.html
(We do not yet have a professional recording from the current Christmas tour which is in progress.)
Subscribed for this
Great reaction!! Welcome to the world of PTX, they are amazingly talented. Subscribed in hopes you’ll continue reacting to them.
Great reaction and new sub here. Pentatonix are amazing and there is so many songs of there’s to choose from. look forward to seeing more reactions from them
Just keep going with this group. You ain’t seen nothin yet. Try new rules/are you that somebody mash up. Thanx!
Here for more Pentatonix 😍
I love the reaction. They are good at leaving you speechless. Subbing for more Pentatonix 😁
Check them out on " Sing Off". You will understand them much better and see each of them and their range and talent.
Here for this rabbit hole ❤
Please react to Pentatonix singing
The Prayer, Amazing Grace, Daft Punk, Hallelujah, Love Again, Bohemian Rapsody
If you continue on this journey Welcome to the Rabbit Hole. It's a Hell of a Ride.
I just subbed in hopes of more Pentatonix reactions! It's Christmas and they own Christmas! 💖
First video TH-cam recommended from you, subscribed! Love that PTX song, can't sit still when listening to it either!
Ok so the next three you need to watch are New Rule x Are You That Somebody, Evolution of Rhianna, and Evolution of Ariana Grande, then come back to me and I'll give you more recs LOL

If it helps, they also go by PTX. Makes it easier to remember.

Just subscribed. So much fun watching reactions to PTX. So many to react to.
