I've really been struggling with melodies since picking up the mandolin. Please to more videos where you continue to go in depth and break down each note. This is the first video I've been able to follow along and begin to make a decent sound. Still working on it. I'll watch this video probably 50 more times
You may actually be stumbling onto some embellished chords with the notes you choose...letting you ear say "does this sound good" usually leads to the right combo of notes. Knowing the names of the chords, as presented here, is helpful when trying to communicate with other players.
@@EddieCollinsMusic Thanks. I am meaning to get more into finding the names - and positions - for established chords. I rarely play with others though. That could of course change sometime.
Could you please please let me know the chord progression you played at the bery beginning of this video. I soounds awesome. I would like to play it along. Please let me know.. It'd be a great help indeed

Great lesson. I’d love more of these worship chord Melodie’s. Thx
More to come!
Thank you for this lesson. I've always had trouble trying to play chord melody.
Hopefully, having a better understanding of why we add those notes helps you make better sense of it. Good luck going forward!
Nice lesson. Thanks. Sometimes I just fake the chords and double stops. Seems to work, but probably real chords give you more playing possibilities.
