Hey everyone, looks like Mojang finally fixed the bug with the lead breaking on leashed mobs for the new 1.21 update as of this week's snapshot!! This will mean that those systems using a cat on a lead will be more reliable for 1.21 and forward, instead of 2no2name's player online detector using observers and minecarts. From some reports, apparently the POD is not entirely consistent, so this fix should make the system completely stable in this future version! So what I'd recommend building is any of the mark 2 designs (or Mooncatcher's tileable version) with a leaded cat in the front, using just one comparator as the input signal once more. Hope this helps!
there's not much cat-porter content out there, so it's a bit hard to learn about the mechanics, so i appreciate you for making this vid and explaining everything so well! your designs are very elegant and compact as well, so thank you for everything :)
Great video! I myself lost a night’s sleep working on such a mechanism, so I see how much effort went into it. I came up with a very similar solution but had I seen your video I would have saved a lot of time, you did a great job connecting ideas from the videos you cited, very informative One thing I found is you can remove the lower honey block of the stasis chamber as it doesn’t really do much. There is also a design where you stick the pearl in a two wide block of honey blocks and move them up and down. I found it less likely to misfire if you happen to restart the server, because the pearl doesn’t directly contact the piston, but it’s larger and has other (solvable) issues
An alternative to this on multiplayer is to have a tamed cat stand of a chest with a torch on the block above the chest. This way the cat will only sit down on the chest when you leave the game. The sitting gives of a comparator output which you can hook up to an enderpearl stasis chamber. You can hook it up to a timer so that if the cat sits down for longer than say 10 seconds, it doesnt teleport you anymore. This way you can leave and rejoin immediatly, which would teleport you. Or you could leave and wait a bit before rejoining, which then wouldnt teleport you.
I've been really interested in the topic of wireless redstone and I always wanted to have the ability to teleport places without having a designated operator that just sits around all my friend's stasis chambers lol. But yeah stuff like this is really awesome
I saw a guy who made a cat teleporter like 2 years ago with different destinations chosen by logout timings, he even did special client sided mod for it
Yep, I guess you're talking about russian streamer JustS. He archieved his client-side mode but I took over it, updated it to 1.21 and uploaded to both Modrinth & Curseforge
i found a more beginner friendly way to do it for those who don't understand redstone, using two comparators and two redstone inverters and a few repeaters we can do the exact same thing but with a dispenser that shoots an arrow at a target block which closes the trapdoor, except with a piston that blocks the dispenser until you join back, and because of the repeaters the signal will reach the dispenser late and will only work if we join before the signal reaches the dispenser so the piston can retract allowing the arrow to pass, I thought of it myself and I tested it, It works really well.
come to think of it it still uses quite a lot of redstone but is still more understandable for people who understand basic level redstone, sorry I said beginner friendly, you still need to know basic redstone to understand this method
Wait, forgot to mention, you also require a chunk loader for it to work at all times, and if the server restarts remember to place the mincart from the dispenser on the rail again for the chunk loader to work again
You can actually make a single player version, as cats also sit down if you enter another dimension. So if you enter the nether and go back to the overworld immediately you can detect that in single player.
The versions with the lead work reliably in single player as long as the catporter is loaded! Spawn chunks is typically the best place to do this in singleplayer
@@megadubstepxd9462 yep! Spawn chunks will load regardless of where you are in singleplayer I believe Edit: so you would build the contraption in those chunks and then teleport back to it from somewhere else. Forgot to make that more clear
Woah, sure! Feel free to drop a photo or schematic here for now. I'm in the process of making my community discord so that stuff like this has a better place in the long term. But I'd love to see what you came up with!
Hey… I hate to ask, but did you come up with the Mark 2 designs on your own, or were you inspired by a design you saw in a schematic floating around the discord space? I ask bc I created a design using the same mechanics for the logout/login system as you did in the Mk2, about 2 years ago. (I never published it on YT bc it was before 2no figured out the cat in minecart trick, so I scrapped the idea since the leads would keep breaking.) Anyway, great video, and lmk if you’d like to do a collaboration, since I’ve worked pretty extensively on the cat-porters myself
Great minds think alike I suppose. The mark 2 designs are 100% original, I've only ever been a part of one other mc discord (ianxofour's server, which I'm not very active on). I was originally spitballing off of mooncatcher's tillable design I show in the video to make multiple stops and came across that design I could scale down to just one as well. I can show a screenshot of my testing world process if you like!
hey, just built this in a java realm. the cat in the cart does not appear to sit like it does in your video. I've double checked the build and the chunk loader is working. it isn't working whatsoever, but when I manually exchange the items in the hoppers it works, so I assume there is a problem with the cat mechanic. great video btw, I used the design in your first video on my last world and it worked awesome. oh and I am referring to the mk 2 btw. any thoughts?
Just to double check: Are you able to sit/unsit the cat by right clicking when the piston is active? You are leaving the piston system running when elsewhere and the cat standing when you're trying to activate the teleporter, right? And the chunk loader is within range of the whole machine as shown in that part of the video I'm assuming?
@@potato_noir thank you so much for getting back to me! I figured out the problem and it is working now. my chunk loader was in the same chunk as the teleporter and I wasn't able to make the cat sit when in the minecart. I moved the chunk loader and just did the cat minecart thing a bunch until it worked. i don't know what the problem was with the cat, but its finally working so im glad. Also I think it would be nice to include in your design a simple dropper next to the trapdoor that delivers a pearl whenever the machine is activated. I added this to mine and it makes it a lot more convenient. anyway, I love your content dude and please keep it up!
@@joeyabrams9283 good, glad you got it figured out, the game can just be weird sometimes. Great idea for the dropper, might see about adding this as an option if I ever update the design!
Hi, I can’t seem to get this working on a paper 1.21 server, Is anything changed? When I sit the cat down manually and pick him up it works fine, but the cat doesn’t seem to sit down on log out. Chunk loader is in the same chunk directly above the teleporter
hey great video! but music is kinda loud in the mix in that first part and is vocal so it drowns out your voice quite a bit and is kinda distracting. edit: the music is loud and distracting throughout actually
I am playing on a pufferfish server, when the player is not loading the chunks, teleporter stops working (chunk loader is in the same chunk, works perfectly), but if i try teleporting while standing next to the machine, it works. Any solutions?
Hmm have you tested other redstone/entities being loaded in the chunk when you're gone as well? I would also confirm that your chunk loader is loading continuously and not starting up when you get there I suppose
do any of these work on Paper modded servers? Ive tried both types of online detectors and nether seem to be working on paper servers. (2b2t specifically) cats do still sit when you log out, but I think paper disabled the chest mechanic
Not sure if Paper has messed with this or not. I'd test the chest mechanic for sure first, because if that doesn't work then the design won't work at all
Btw, the 2no2name minecart design can break if the observer clock changes its timing. It can happen on the server restart. You know how there are 2 different delays observer clock can give, one longer when you place it by hand, and one shorter when you push it with a piston? Turns out only the longer delay is suitable for this contraption, so comparator clock can be better in this case. But I solved it in a different way. By 0-ticking one of the observers in and out after the restart, using the armor stand and frost walker boots restart detection.
@@mooncatcher_ thanks for the info, I actually was not aware of that. I'd love to see what your system looks like for that too! Appreciate your input a ton!
You could make the output connect to a temporary chunk loader and a farther stasis chamber. Then it would only load the chunks as needed, and the pearl would not disappear

I'm confused, if you could explain what exactly you're having trouble with I can probably help. Which version exactly? And you're not able to get a redstone output from the chest, or just access the chest?
hey there again, I've tried tourbleshooting the mk 2 catporter at location 2 and I can't get the cat sitting mechanic to work. My original catporter without the 2 sets of hoppers is not in spawn chunks, so I built a chunk loader.
