When your cd player jams, make sure you pull the fuse for the radio so your system won't crind its tiny plastic gears up, your radio will try to fixs itself every time you press the keyfob unlock and lock botton and as well turning on the vehicle.. fuse box is located next to drivers left leg, radio fuse is on the bottom row #10 fuse.....look in your owners manual. ...

Very helpful, thank you! Very easy to lose that middle screw. Suggest using a nut driver (my 2006 has 8mm screws). Also, that plug behind the dome light switch wants to fall down into the abyss. Best secure it with a rubber band or something,. Be sure to check with Honda for the correct replacement for your VIN if you opt to replace rather than repair. Honda uses different part numbers in the 06' model.
1) Try a CD lens cleaner. 2) Insert a CD, skip to the last song, back to the first and repeat several times. This may clean and relubricate the sled mechanism that the laser moves along. Otherwise, possible weak or bad laser, we would have to see when in shop for repair.
So you showed how to get the CD changer out but you did not show how to get the stereo/radio (below climate control) out or access it to check connections on the rear. My audio started cutting out and now is totally silent. System is powered up but no sound... on radio or CD... I guessing a loose connection/harness...

Hi my wife 'just purchase a Odyssey 2005 XL and she want to replace the stock radio and put a aftermarket radio in it because we want to put a system in the vehicle but she was a little skeptical on doing it because her brother said that if you replace the stock radio with a aftermarket radio and like later on in the future when you want to sell the vehicle and you want to put the stock radio back in you will need some code or something is that true or he just pulling our leg for us not to replace the radio to put a system and the vehicle is it possible that you can get back to me and let me know thanks I appreciate it

side note, if you pop that little tab next to the gear shifter, insert the key there you can shift it down without turning ignition on.

Remove the stereo, there have been times when the 2 nd CD is jammed on top of the mechanism. You may be able to remove the CD with the cover removed.

The codes are on a sticker inside the glove compartment. One code for the radio, and one code the GPS navigation (if equipped)
