I listened to 4 minutes of this. Later at night, it was 3am, I woke up. I wrote down not one, not two, NOT three... not even FOUR... but SIX melodies AND lyrics drafts. Between 3 and 6 in the morning. Michael, I've been in this for 15 years, nothing got me inspired like your music. Keep the blues alive, 2020 style!

I saw him two weeks ago in Philly. Just an amazing show. It was a Monday in February, and the place was packed and the atmosphere was electric. The band and the audience wee feeding off each other and it was a great energy. Michael sounded amazing, of course. He has quietly put together a really strong catalog, which makes a huge difference in concert.
The sound on this is flawless! For a live gig, it's just astonishingly high quality... the performance, the instrument effects, the sound recording... not a note or a beat out of place - just so so good!!
How isn't Michael more famous? Especially in the UK as one of our own? Unbelievable that I only heard about him last year after hearing this song over a football compilation. I was convinced this was maybe something from the 70's-90's and why I hadn't heard of him. We really should be putting this kind of talent front and centre. Haven't heard such soulful, emotion-inducing music in such a long time.

Oh those lucky souls at that club! What an outstanding performance in such an intimate setting. Michael Kiwanuka is now (in 2022) so popular that I doubt he and his band could ever manage a nightclub concert again. With the use of his song “Cold Little Heart” in the HBO series “Big Little Lies,” and the use of his song “Light” on so many podcasts, more and more people are realizing what a phenomenal talent he is. I hope he and his band will be visiting San Francisco soon. I’d love to see them live. (Added to my “Bucket List,” along with seeing the Northern Lights, and climbing Kilimanjaro, along with other spectacular adventures.)
