Traditional, original vellum is also really _only_ made from the skin of aborted calf tissue or uterine tissue. It's marvellous stuff -- but how it's made isn't pretty.
I went to Hay on Wye one year and they were trying to get ebooks banned. Whilst I understand that they want books to be in the traditional format my mother uses a kindle simply because she can increase the text size due to her failing eyesight. Love reading but I live my Kindle just as much. So many books in one device and with the new Scribe I get to add notes into my favorite books. I still have some favorite dead tree books but most of my everyday reading is done on my Kindle.
