      I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I wanted to offer some advice. I’m a white guy trying to learn Spanish and one thing I learned to help it sound more authentic and natural is to throw the accent you hear when they speak English into your Spanish words. That sounds stupid I know, but I am told by my Spanish coworkers that my Spanish sounds less “American” when I speak because of that. After a while I can actually hear what they mean when they speak Spanish and I hear others learning speak it as well. Hope that helps in your journey even though it does sound ridiculous.

    To the op with the creep who name-dropped the tenth-grade boyfriend, I wonder if the creep is someone you or your boyfriend knew while in school, or maybe simply knew of you and has had a thing for you ever since?
    To the op who found the odd smell to her clothes, may I suggest getting cameras for your home that you can place in rooms and see if someone is indeed coming into your home? You may want to check out your home's attic, basement, or any crawl spaces.

    Please don't drive if you aren't able to give your full attention to what you are doing. It places everyone around you are risk. The "stop assist" features can be more dangerous than they are helpful. They can also be used against you, if two people decide to stand in front and behind the vehicle. The "stop assist" will prevent you from moving until the sensors no longer detect an object in the way. Sharp objects or tiny pieces of porcelain can shatter windows with little to no effort. Just by simply flicking a piece of porcelain, such as what is used on spark plugs, can sometimes be all it takes to gain access to the interior of the car. This makes having door handles or not, totally irrelevant. We all know that evil surrounds us everywhere we go, so be safe, and always be aware of your surroundings at all times. Failure to do so doesn't make you a victim, it makes you a volunteer. Cheers

    The last story reminds me of a TH-cam documentary i watched of this lady who was a psychopath. She didn't understand why no one liked her and she had no friends but she finally got help after her life kind of dissolved. She had been in therapy for years and has actually been able to learn and distinguish different emotions though she still didn't have access to several very prominent emotions people usually have. It makes me wish the dude in the final story would get more extensive help from a good psychiatrist/psychologist

    The story where they think someone is going into their house.... there's a good chance there is. I once lived in a condo alone and also had weird things happening. My underwear was also going missing. I always had a bad feeling and was getting really paranoid for what I thought was no reason. One day I came home to blood all over my apartment, splattered all over the walls, my bed, the ceiling. I called the police but they were absolutely useless. I moved out that day and never went back. Years later my now wife told me that she had seen a man in a mask walking around my apartment while we were asleep. She pretended to be asleep. Since we didn't know eachother that well at the time and it had been her first time sleeping over she convinced herself it was sleep paralysis (even though she could move), and didn't tell me because she didn't want me to think she was crazy. When she told me that story I was terrified but it all made sense.

  • @MirrenTheDragonKnight
    @MirrenTheDragonKnight 2 ปีที่แล้ว +65

    Regarding the story about the rapist roommate...
    It is stupid that people need to qualify their thoughts on a same-sex (or transgender) assaulter with, "I don't have anything against gay/non-straight people."
    Some certain people will, of course, assume you/they only dislike your/someone's violation because you/they are straight.
    Even if they did, I would understand it, while still aknowledging it as bigotry.

      it sounds fake to me like a weird excuse to write homophobic spooky story. if you were worried there was something off with his food, why keep eating it to test it? why say you hope he got arrested when you didn’t file a police report or testify in the case? why make a point to tell everyone you’re scared of gay people now when this would be scary regardless of anyones identity? and honestly idk what kind of date rpe drug would be strong enough to sedate someone but they’d just waltz off to bed like they took a melatonin gummy instead of like losing motor function/memory and slurring your words

    • @MirrenTheDragonKnight
      @MirrenTheDragonKnight 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IuxinteriorHere we go. You are the exact problem I mentioned.
      You would not be screeching about bigotry if the supposed victim was female. You would likely believe the story more too.
      Plenty of women violated by men are left scared of men or outright misandrists. Why should a victim of a gay man not be scared of gay men?
      Next you'll be telling me the absolute bollocks that homophobia was made it take so long for Jeffrey Dahmer or John Wayne Gacy to be caught. That is especially absurd in Dahmer's case as the police where actually afraid of being called homophobic. Sadly, this is even the case with the situation of that teenage boy into whom he poured acid.
      BTW, sexuality is not an 'identity' it is simply a shallow aspect of one's personhood.
      Hell, of anything, I think it adds an extra layer of violation, if the victim is targeted for not being of the attacker's desired sexuality.
      See the practice of 'corrective rape'.
      See James Charles for another gay male example.
      And not all date rape drugs are the same.

    My opinion on a few of the stories Joel narrated-
    *Story #3 - The one where items keep going missing in the author’s house she shares with 2 female roommates: The fact that she found human urine in one of her dresser drawers and then noticed that she is missing a couple pairs of panties shows that someone knows her and her roommate’s’ schedules and must have a key. That means her landlord is either involved, didn’t change the locks when she moved in or someone in their life (landlord) is using the key or made a copy of it. The only other way would be if one of her roommates had someone make a copy of their house key without their knowledge. The first thing she should do is to have the landlord change the locks ASAP and to also set up a few cameras around the house to see who is getting in and how.
    *Story #4 - The one where the girl is driving home at night in her Tesla and a man walked out in front of her out of nowhere then tried to open her door: The author ABSOLUTELY SHOULD HAVE called the police once she got a good distance away to warn them that a guy is acting like he’s broken down then tries to open up the driver’s door. It could have saved someone from something really bad happening to them!
    *Story #5 - The one where the guy decides to rent an apartment with the dude who’s training to be a Gourmet Chef- I can’t believe the guy being drugged and then assaulted by his "Chef" roommate didn’t go straight to the police once he had video of what was going on! I get that a straight male being touched and assaulted by a gay male may feel embarrassed along with many other negative emotions… but he really needed to stop that monster ASAP from doing that to anyone else and to PAY for what he did to him! I also think he definitely should have kept up with the case the police had on the "Chef" to make sure he got put away for a very long time for what he did! He could have had his female friend testify what she saw firsthand when she spent the night, like her friend seeming totally drugged and how she saw the "Chef" guy open up her friend’s bedroom door in the middle of the night just to stare at him. Also, he could have let the detective know how many times he suspected this happened before the recording. They could have also tested his blood for drugs to see what the guy was drugging him with which could be linked back to the roommate drugging him!

    I do know a little but can’t hold a conversation. By the way, your Spanish is good!

    the story at 25:36 about the neighbour stalking OP and obsessing over their dog makes me think that maybe he is trying to get familiar with the dog, so it wont attack him or bark at him if he one day decides to break in to their house or something like that. I am aware that this might be a stretch, but that's what I first thought of. I'd also like to know what breed OPs dog is. If it's a purebred dog, or a popular breed in general, the neighbour may be planning to kidnap it and sell it for a good prize, or steal it for dog fighting. Who knows, bucko is definitely up to no good, and the questions about where OP lives and the percistence to get to know OP's dog is weird as hell. He may be mentally challenged or socially awkward but his behaviour is still very strange and alarmig.

      All these theories are plausible, especially the first. There was another story where these girls were walking with a dog and a man kept walking back and forth past them, closer each time. I’m sure he was testing the dog to see if it’d react. When it didn’t, the man followed them home.

    The story playing during the 27:00-28:00mark, where the neighbor is stalking the girl and her boyfriend, they may not have enough evidence to press charges against him, but it would be wise for them to go ahead and make a police report on it in case something happens. Like if God forbid something happens to them or they can't tell the police (death, coma) they will have a record of where they came to the police concerned.

    Wow. The roommate chef story made me sick. Thats a nightmare!!! I am a straight woman and if a man did that to me it would be considered sexual assault possibly rape. Not sure if it was a woman if it would be the same. There shouldnt be double standards no matter what your sexual orientation is! Im so sorry to the man who endured that trauma, idk if it is a blessing that he was asleep or not… thats rough. I hope OP is doing great, and should seek some one to speak with. Youre in my thoughts

    I adore your channel Joel, absolutely one of my most favorite ever! That being said, it seems to me that every single woman in these stories all end up calling thier boyfriend/husband, not one of them was prepared to take care of themselves. You need to do a series on bad ass women who are confident and know how to handle situations without calling a man!! :)

    Really sounds like the chefs roommate did not report to the police. They had filmed evidence. They should have. If op never got asked to give evidence he didn't go to prison. Op needed to report it. Maybe they still can? I would try at least! They might well be doing the same to others. I'm so sorry op had to go thru that.

    Okay, first story wtf. Way too short and extremely anticlimactic. Second story.. probably some form of human trafficker, found girl on Instagram or Facebook.. found out some random info… and then tried getting her locality by manipulating someone (stepdad) with said info. Only thing that makes sense to me 🤷🏼‍♂️
