    Beautiful sounding guitar!
Twenty years ago I studied with Christopher Parkening and his suggestion for dealing with squeaks especially when recording (it's not as noticeable in live performance) is soaking your finger tips in water for a short period of time before the performance. It does work pretty well.

Thank you for sharing your professional advice. It helped me a lot to reduce the squeaking during position changes when I play. Training the sequence of lift - hold - place of all fingers of a given fingering/chord shape helped me to lift vertical without noise and separate it from the actual position change. It was very pleasing to my ears to listen to Lagrima without being constantly disturbed by the squeaking.

It is nearly impossible to eliminate all squeaks however a combo helicopter mute move will reduce the noise fairly efficiently with steady practice. The helicopter is lift and plant. The mute is used to dampen string response to the helicopter. Thanks Ben Verdery for introducing me to the helicopter.

Buy D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composite strings. The LP stands for Lightly Polished. They eliminate 75% of the squeak.

A great video for changing positions. It's really working. However, I have a left hand squeak even if I need to make a bass jump in the same position. Example: I am holding a C chord (C on the 5th string with the 3rd finger and E on the 4th string with the 2nd finger) and I need to change to F# on the 6th string with the 2nd finger. When just unpressing both basses, I am getting a noise. Most probably this is a lack of technique, but I can only make the unpressing silent if I make it very slow, which makes the switch sound like staccato.
Unfortunately, all the videos on the subject concentrate on changing positions. Does exactly the same techniques apply to jumping the bass positions within the same position?

Thank you for this video! If I may add a question - does anyone else have a problem with the high e carbon high tension string, it breaks within hours of tuning up. . this doesn't happen with medium tension strings. I find it very frustrating (I use D'Addario) as I love the sound. . .

I barely hear any squeaks in your playing ever. Even when they are there it is very unpronounced. I have always worked to avoid that sound too. Some players seem to do it on purpose. I think it is thoughtfully kind to listeners to minimize it as much as possible

Then you won't like that Ritchie Kotzen abandoned the flat pick for fingers and took the finger noise right out of the electric! The noise belongs by choice.
