I needed this video/discussion today Michael, thank you for your thoughts. I begged GOD and Jesus this morning to help me to know them and worship them in the correct way. I always pray and read the Bible every day but I feel I lack faith. . Or something..40 years of being JW (faded 8 years ago) always makes me feel like I can never do enough. I always felt salvation was a gift and needed to be more personal. I begged GOD to let me know if I was still one with him this morning. And here's your video to end my day. I truly appreciate it!

I know very well the pain followed after being damaged by this type disorder. I would not say my mom was 100% narcissistic, however most of my life she had me on a pedestal, I was everything to her. It was when I began my relationship with God realized what had been happening with this type of love manipulation. I believe with all my heart she did love me, but because she was unaware and unwilling to change the ways, our relationship changed. I started seeing the only time she was happy with me when I was doing what was pleasing to her, otherwise she treated me much differently as an adult when I had my own mind. It takes a long time to heal from something like this Mike it does make me one if someone claims they care or love me because I feel there must be some reason behind it that they need to gain something from me. Does that make sense? I have to agree with you, they can change God changes them. In the last three years of moms life, she lived with me because her mind deteriorated and only God's love was revealed in her in those last days. Thank you for sharing this so clearly, many people get affected by this kind of thing, we need this kind of hope Because we can all heal.
I need to add this for anyone who might take the time to read this, the reason this is so damaging is because when you are not on that pedestal that they put you on you feel worthless and no good to anybody but when you play along with their love game and how wonderful you are that place feels safe. The damaging thing is that when you mess up or when you don't feel right it seems you have to do much more just to be loved. This is all a lie. you are loved because God created you wonderfully and unique. I know it's hard to comprehend that when you're at the bottom of useless. This is why it is healing for us to seek wisdom and guidance from others who truly know the love of God.
