Great video explaining everything 👌 I just picked up the series 70 and it must have been put together by someone who cared! The fit and finish is perfect and the slide has zero slop and the fit from slide to frame line's up perfectly even at the back of the weapon and have seen videos showing over hang on the back..

I am going to try to get my hands on it this evening. You will see the progression of the downhill path that Colt took with bluing their guns.
Thanks for the video, as there are barely any videos for the Gov model Wiley Clapp. One thing you didn't mention is the undercut frame under the triggerguard... which I think is a great feature. I just bought a new Wiley Clapp Govt model from Gunbroker for 1750. which is outrageous, but... they don't make them anymore and I like the features of the Clapp. I used to own the Wiley Clapp CCO version, but the Commander and CCO are both aluminum frame, while the Govt model is full steel frame.
Nice one! I find it kinda funny,that with the sights,beavertail,and other enhancements that Colt ( or Clap) chose to use the original nub thumb safety. Didn't we spend the 80's and 90's trying to eradicate them, with extended ones? Kinda cool though,I've got a few old ones with them( and a box of spares lol) Cool stuff, keep it up!
Just took delivery of mine and.... man... super rattle trap!! Is yours kinda loose on the slide to frame fit? I'm not overly worried until I get it to the range and shoot it, but.. man, that is LOOSE

This gun is still in Colts catalog!! The Ruger GP-100 357 magnum was the Williy Claop pistol

1700 is ridiculous for this gun. I do not think I could bring myself to pay that but I do like it

They so have some nice features. I like it. I do not think I could like it for $1700, but I do like it.
