I really don't understand why so many people were confused about it being a visual novel. I mean, this is basically a new Digimon miniseries where you're the main protagonist.
Well i got it on a sale not knowing what this game is even about and at this time i was like "Oh seems like a new D. World game with an other Story line.". To be real as soon as i heard its more like a v novel i was thinking about to resell it with out even try it... . IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GRAVEMISTAKE. It has by far the best Story i have seen in the last few years.
Another tip is how you can influence your karma. For the options that affect it, they actually change color to what it's for if you highlight that option, and the position is always the same. Left is Moral, Right is Harmony, and Up is Wrath. This is helpful with getting the other two endings you didn't originally that's not the secret ending
Building character affinity. When you select the wrong answer, you can reload your last auto save and select the right answer. The auto save always activates prior to speaking to a character. 30+ affinity for Ultimate level after Chapter 6. 70+ affinity for Mega after Chapter 10.
Guilmon (I like ya used my first evo item on him) is my favorite happy to have been able to get him right away. I just got Angemon recently another favorite! =) Overlapping evolutions is kinda weird to me coming from Pokemon
One thing I didn't immediately catch on was that the Auto Battle function had various AI modes to choose from. But sadly none targets chests inside the stages specifically. Which makes it guaranteed to miss out on items if not attacked manually.
Great video, i'm almost done with the true ending. It was actually easier than i thought. I feel like the requirement for this ending is simply ng+ without diying and once in part 8 (if i recall) you'r lock in it.
To get the True Ending you only need 2 requirements: 1. Beat the game at least once and start the game on a NG+ save file. 2. Get Ryo's affinity to at least 30, basically you have more opportunities to have dialogue with him once you're in NG+ in the early chapters.

But i would have regreted it. MY ADVICE on all digimon and Story lovers, Just give it a try. The Story behind this gem is a 10/10. The deepnes of the charakters is insane and i wish every game would have such a detailed development in both Story and Charakters. PLS Bandai give us a fusion of the best of to worlds and create a game with the "freedom" of d. World but with a Story deepnes like Surive.🙏
Turn tentomon into the bottom evo's and in chapter 11 you can get kuwagamon and kabuterimon for the two other branches, palmon togemon and vegiemon are in shadow battles during near end of chapter 10 in the library
You need to be on a New Game Plus to save Ryo. It's part of the requirements for the True Ending route. Even if you max his Affinity to 100 (someone hacked their save file to have 100 on everyone) and it still didn't save Ryo. So basically the conditions to save Ryo are; 1) Have at least 30+ Affinity and 2) Have Clear Save File. It's annoying, I know.
Hey guys. SPOILER ALERT!!! As for me, best digimon game ever. Im 90's kid, so its real nostalgia for me and i loved them tactical games. 9/10 rating from me as it lacks some more digimons i loved and could be more features like different attacks for same digimon (without equipping stones). Just saved Shuuji (and Ryo), Im on the second run. Really wanted to end first run quickly to save Ryo and play with Kunemon, kinda he is my favorite along with Agumon, but has only one line. But trying to give all training equipment to him haha. Does anyone know if its based on a luck if training items succeed or is there any special trick? Anyways KEW KEWEE 🐛
I personally recommend doing all other pathways first before you do the Secret ending. Reason being is some mega evolutions for a few members of your party can only be achieved through doing the other pathways first. What do you mean by training equipment? Do you mean the Enlightenment slabs? Those will evolve a digimon. Some that have multiple lines will show that to you before you evolve them so you can pick which evolution it can become. But Digimon like Kunemon and Guilmon only have 1 evolution line in the game.
Come on man! I can't believe you left out the part where physical copies might get guilmon and digital copies are the only ones are guaranteed a guilmon
@@paulconrad1174 sry I haven't actually finished it yet. But it does depend on what you consider to be a complete playthrough. To get one ending my estimate is about 10- 15hrs maybe less? But I'm playing real slowly. If you feel the true end is necessary add on another... 5 - 10 hrs? Also there are 3 'normal' endings if that makes any difference, and you can skip text that has already been read so each subsequent play will be shorter. These are just my rough estimate so I could be way off. And it will also depend on how fast you read.
The battle system looks absolutely terrible only 2 attacks per digimon? No way to learn new attacks? Gives very little incentive to actually care about your digimon in your party or have anything to look forward to.

@@nawt6370 if you don't like this game then stay away from persona, Danganronpa, devil survivor, digimon story, or any other VISUAL NOVEL, or point and click adventure games cause you just won't enjoy them either. With us a real shame cause they're all great but I guess just not for everyone.

@@lilcyrusj I think the biggest with that is a lot of people went in expecting it to be mostly a tactical RPG and not a visual novel when the reality was it was the opposite (mostly visual novel). Not a problem if you disliked it regardless but I'd still like to read why you didn't.

I thought Ultimate was a given once you progress through the story enough. Makes sense as the trigger in optional battles on the map.

Yeah the auto save feature helped me out multiple times when I didn't get the correct affinity raise option right the first (or second time). .
If you want to evolve agumon into the greymon line, always pick the choice that when highlighted turns red during a talking scene.

I love this game so far, I'm about 4 hrs In. I'm loving the chars and the combat is fun but simple. And digimon is always a win for me

I wish I knew palmon and tentomon can only be obtained once per playthrough and were missable making my platinum take like 12 extra hours

As a "90s kid" myself, this game is "eh" out of 10. It's fine. But it's not amazing in the slightest.
