It's the same exact setup for every 3.7 v6, premium model or not. And yes that second belt is for the a/c compressor. It's a stretch belt that has no tensioner. If you've ever replaced a bicycle tire, same deal.
The air comes from the front & feeds into the filter from the duct beneath it. It gets no air from above it.. maybe some but is also hot air from the engine & isn't forced like from the duct but sucked instead if enough pressure from the open throttle. Instead of the duct air also blowing into the engine bay & being wasted.. though might help with engine cooling but there's also the fan for that.. it all gets mostly forced in the air filter instead. I haven't had it dynoed for proof, but my butt dyno tells me it works. Car definitely pulls faster with it covered. You can buy covered ones too. I might get one of those later but for now cover it myself after each filter cleaning.
Here's the belt at Home Depot since Amazon no longer provides it. They sell it for $32.36 but worth the cost in my opinion... www.homedepot.com/p/Continental-Elite-Serpentine-Belt-Alternator-and-Air-Conditioning-4060547/308387259?keyword=continental+elite+serpentine+belt&semanticToken=3001008001220000_0c17435156607d73b19206e643142609_1593266730434+3001008001220000+%3E++cnn%3A%7B14%3A0%7D+cnr%3A%7B7%3A0%7D+cnp%3A%7B10%3A0%7D+cnd%3A%7B4%3A0%7D+cne%3A%7B8%3A0%7D+cnb%3A%7B0%3A0%7D+cns%3A%7B5%3A0%7D+cnx%3A%7B3%3A0%7D+cnq%3A%7B0%3A0%7D+cnw%3A%7B0%3A0%7D+cnv%3A%7B1%3A0%7D+st%3A%7Bcontinental+elite+serpentine+belt%7D%3Ast+oos%3A%7B0%3A1%7D+br%3A%7Bcontinental+elite%7D%3Abr+pt%3A%7Bserpentine+belt%7D%3Apt+smf%3A%7Bca%2Cbr%7D%3Asmf+nf%3A%7B1%7D%3Anf+qu%3A%7Bcontinental+elite+serpentine+belt%7D%3Aqu
billy bob I'll look for the actual product name but it's a Poly-V drive belt made by Continental. It's supposed to last longer & take away noise. It has teeth grooves on each line so in my opinion should help pick up. It could be all in my head but felt like it connected better. Also was a new belt at the time so that could be it too
Andrew Christianson okay thanks, mine only squeals for like 2-4 minutes when I start it up and it's bugging the hell out of me, can't look cool starting my car up and then it squeals like hell! Lmao
True no coolness with squeals. I'm thinking either your drive belt isn't fully lined up or you need a new belt. More than likely the latter. You can get a new standard one and should do the trick, but whenever I need to replace stuff I prefer to upgrade the part. Why not? I mean we got a Stang right? B) Here's a Home Depot link as Amazon no longer offers the belt... www.homedepot.com/p/Continental-Elite-Serpentine-Belt-Alternator-and-Air-Conditioning-4060547/308387259?keyword=continental+elite+serpentine+belt&semanticToken=3001008001220000_0c17435156607d73b19206e643142609_1593266730434+3001008001220000+%3E++cnn%3A%7B14%3A0%7D+cnr%3A%7B7%3A0%7D+cnp%3A%7B10%3A0%7D+cnd%3A%7B4%3A0%7D+cne%3A%7B8%3A0%7D+cnb%3A%7B0%3A0%7D+cns%3A%7B5%3A0%7D+cnx%3A%7B3%3A0%7D+cnq%3A%7B0%3A0%7D+cnw%3A%7B0%3A0%7D+cnv%3A%7B1%3A0%7D+st%3A%7Bcontinental+elite+serpentine+belt%7D%3Ast+oos%3A%7B0%3A1%7D+br%3A%7Bcontinental+elite%7D%3Abr+pt%3A%7Bserpentine+belt%7D%3Apt+smf%3A%7Bca%2Cbr%7D%3Asmf+nf%3A%7B1%7D%3Anf+qu%3A%7Bcontinental+elite+serpentine+belt%7D%3Aqu

Thanks joshnc101 I thought that would be the case.
Its the short drive belt.
Mine is frayed. Replacing it rn
would it be the same for the newer models? The 2015-2017 3.7 mustangs I mean.
@@fawazalhoqail4846 I'm not sure. It's quite possible as it has the same engine.
I think i ripped both belts. Are they the exact same belts cause only one comes up online or in stores
Sorry to hear that. No they're different. The one going around the A/C is much shorter than the serpentine one.
Thanks man o'reillys had it. Autozone was convinced it was all the same belt and looked at me like i was crazy
Thank you!
CrossTrainerToo Hey you're welcome. Thought it would be helpful information ☺
1:08 idk about you, but i can't find the "White Belt" xD
I meant the belt with the bold white wording on it but it's all good LOL
Why is your intake covered.....that defeated the purpose of upgrading it?

@@andrewchristianson2086 I've seen it covered like that in a few videos. I thought it looked weird but if it works it works!
How much did the belt coast and do you have a link?
