We moved out of india when i was 5 and part of my heritage is indian, but it sure is embarrassing because of things like this. The national average IQ of india is more than 20 points lower than the national average IQ in western countries....and their inability to pronounce the word Pizza, even when taught how to, is a small example of this sad fact. Having visited india now as an adult and having so far spent 11 months traveling across the country, I was dismayed to realize that not a single indian can pronounce the word pizza..correctly..even when you explain the correct pronunciation to them and why..two seconds later they go back to mispronouncing it as "peeza". Any time the topic of pizza came up I explained to indians across the country, rich and poor, that westerners are polite and will not openly laugh at it..but when indians say "peeza"..it's considered comical and quaint around the world because it shows that indians can only speak pidgin english. I would explain that even though it's used in english now, originally the word pizza and the dish itself came from italy..which is why everyone around the world..except indians..correctly pronounces it as "peetza"..because in italian double zz is always pronounced with a TZ sound. Then I would show them a pizza ad on the phone so they could see how the entire world..except indians..pronounces it, correctly. Two seconds later they would be mispronouncing it and saying "peeza"..like idiots in old movies who used to say "ischool" instead of school. Now here is this imbecile, in the heart of italy....displaying for the world how indians simply don't have the intellect to wrap their minds around this oh so difficult concept. You can't get mad at the chinese for laughing at us has comical, when they see things like this. Lolz. #pathetic
