- Young Elon Musk - Interview 2007 - Full Version
The lost and rare interview of Elon Musk in 2007 with PBS Wired Science explaining his plans for both SpaceX and Tesla for the future.
Elon Musk is interviewed on the premier of the WIRED Science show on PBS. The first part of the interview is about his investment in the Tesla electric car project. Seems that he's put LockMart and Boeing out of business, and he's gunning for Porsche and Ferrari. The interview then moved to SpaceX. The interviewer pointed out that there is a lot of enterpreneurial interest in space, with Bezos, Branson, et al. He asked Musk about the market competion facing SpaceX. Musk paused for what seemed to be a long time, then answered "We have no competition."

Elon was playful when answering to interviewer’s comment about age, decoded 12+23=35 years.

É verdade
How ANYONE can ignore, wish to deny, or defame a person that has worked so unfathomably hard, consistent and stayed true to his missions from day one for decades, is beyond me. No one would work as hard as he has done. For goals that are essentially for all humanity, both directly and indirectly. He knows he has to make them financially successful to happen, and all the haters see is the money. And they equate it with greed because of their envy. How can people be so simple and blind? The man has spoken his truth with his heart on his sleeve since the very beginning. Not hiding, not lying, not fabricating, like most leaders do. So rare, and apparently so rare that most people can’t recognize true realness and courage. I’m glad I am awake enough to enjoy the ride it is to follow Elon’s saga as it unfolds from the point of view of a supporter. Makes me sad that so many people are missing out on it and probably in 5-10-15 years will realize that he really did do it for everyone’s good and always carried the largest load himself.
I used to love him. I was an early investor and admirer. But lately he CHOSE to become an asshole. He truly did. Wealth and narcissism did it. He is still a genius. But a much more hated one than he needed to be.

Amazing and mind-blowing interview.
Look at how Elon Musk still 16 years later are the exact same person trying to solve the very same problems. SpaceX and Tesla has come so far that many of the steps have been solved now it is just a matter of accelerating them.
So what have changed in 16 years, it is also very clear. Interviews have gone from this open-minded and questions asked by curiosity and all-in-all having a great conversation.
Today an interview is all about hitting an agenda... so many interviews are guided from Elons enemies (big-oil, big-auto, utility companies and political-agendas). These kind of interviews are getting us nowhere, because all the questions have an agenda. They do not care about your response.
But back in 2007 an interviewer was actually curious... we need this back!
Bottom-line is Elon is the same person today, but the world have changed around us. Curiosity has gone and click-bait has arrived.
the problem is that he is too easily distracted participating in flamewars on the internet
Elon's biggest enemy is the democratic party and their media goons like Media Matters who are closely affiliated with Hillary Clinton
You're right. Elon has too nice a heart and chooses to suffer idiots asking repetitive questions. He should let me do it. No one would hear me ask one question heard before that's pointless. I'd ask questions which Elon has thought about for decades but no one has heard the answer. Ah, fate is blind.
