Thanks for the shoutout Daniel! There are so many factors that go into the lifespan of a dumpster but our oldest cans are about 15 years old and are in pretty good shape I think. They are faded, dented, scratched, rusty, and decals are not great but they work fine. I have done alot of thinking about how to maintain a great looking fleet but it is hard. I repainted a few and put new decals without sandblasting, we painted over just like they were about a year ago and they look much better but I am not positive this is the best way to go in the long term. The way we did it was very easy and cost about $50 in paint and the new decals were $200/per 15yd. we will see how they hold up but we are still growing so bringing in new cans and getting rid of old doesn't make sense for us yet. Buy quality equiptment and take care of it the best you can. I am looking for long term sites to park some of my older cans at like you said but that can be dificult. We also try to put our older cans at new construction builds because they will usually stay on site for 6 months or so and always try to put "pretty" cans on main roads and high visibility sites.

Another quality production. Thanks for the work!
Mc Welds is keeping you in our prayers.
While we hope nothing gets damaged, we enjoy being the company to get to do the repairs.

There is different gauge of metals that are used for Dumpsters too. Some are light weight, medium duty, heavy duty. For a truck like mine which isn't hauling 12 ton loads a heavy duty dumpster which weighs more just takes away from the overall weight I can carry. So I have opted for medium duty dumpsters. 54" hook heights are generally heavy duty dumpsters when you talk to manufacturers, so making them build me a medium duty with a 54" hook height requires me being very specific about what I want and why I want it.

Thank you for sharing! Not all dumpsters are created equal and for good reason. Different build specs for different reasons! Thanks!

All depends on who made the container, the specs, and who used it. 5-10 years is pretty good for those who beat these things up. If seen ones that are a year old with big holes in the floor since the first customer was a steel mill dumping steel chunks in it. Buy a quality container with good specs, especially if you are going to rent to commercial customers.

Oh wow! Gotcha, great point. Seems like using a certain spec dumpster for the wrong intended use could be the largest contributing factor to dumpsters dying faster than intended. Thank you for sharing!
