- Buck Stack SPLASH Ep 04 "West Coast Logging" Sev.photography
This episode shows what happens after the Yarder crew is finished they're part. Once the logs have reached the landing area the log loader stacks the logs to be bucked up. The logs get through the bucker men then the Log Loader then stacked them on the Logging Truck. They then head down to the log dump, this is where most people get excited to see the big SPLASH of the bundle of logs hitting the water. Once the logs bundels have hit the water and have filled the dump a little boat called a boom boat drags the timber to the holding area where, they awaited a tugboat to pull them back to Vancouver. The saying I heard the most is the splash means cash, that because when the logs are not hitting the water no income is coming in. Like gold mining if you're not sluicing you're losing. Watching the SPLASH never gets old.
Have a watch and enjoy
Stay tuned next week November 23rd for the last instalment of "West Coast logging" Ep 05 The Way Home

Dude! You have some of the most underrated clips on TH-cam when it comes to logging. Epic job and love the music, keep it up!!!
Some people can't live without music. I CAN
I've watched all of the west coast logging videos and they are awesome man, great job!
Thanks appreciate the comments. I am trying to put a Heli logging video together a lot more red flags and insurance. Maybe next year.
ill stay tuned !
I hope to see the heli version...great job
Truck drivers.....Not loggers!!!!
I click on logging videos to hear machinery and watch it in action in real time, not some sped up cartoon version accompanied by what passes for music. Music belongs on music videos, not on logging videos. I have clicked the Not Interested button.
Outstanding video, was recommended after watching that chipper guy.....
finally a complete video of what it actually looks like to be logging in bc!!
Just found this in my feed. My dad was a logger and I worked the landings during the summer. Your video is great, but I would have preferred to hear the equipment and leave off the music.
excellent
timbertrans thank you
What's up with the lame 40 metre load on the HDX
That was the job and there was a really few nasty corner
That's more like 60 or 70 meters. Worked in Triumph Bay, North Coast. I was boom man at the time and they were sending loads down that were basically the same size. Level with the top of the stakes. Averaging 70 meters. The booms were towed to Prince Rupert and lifted out with a log bundle crane. Funny note. Nearly 30 years later I now work at the sort yard in Prince Rupert and one of my duties is running that crane. See Instagram @a_loggers_life.
14 foot wide bunks add up fast
How much weight are these loads on the trucks about? Or do you even know. Off highway trucks probably don’t have scales, just fill up the bunks and send it off. Great videos 👍🏻
This was a small load, probably ran 100 Tons. The empty truck is also about 90 Tons.
Logging is by the board/foot. Sample loads are taken measured and weighed. Then they can determine the number of board feet per ton. At some point most trucks will cross a scale. At Port Alice the scale was build into the lift that lifted the loads off the truck.
FUCKIN MADILLS!!!!! AMERICAN BADASS!!!!!
Very cool video!!! Thanks for sharing
Great video

Great Shit! Awesome photography....and pics
Where is this outfit located? Its an awesome video, my son and I watch it all the time! Cheers man.
Excellent video. I listen to it all the time. You should do one of shake blocking and heli flying
I worked at Madill and built quite a few of these juicers.
Great photography, brings back a lot of memories. I've done about everything there except run the loader. Why is the loader operating so rough? Why only 1/2 a load?
Probably a clean up load.
Excelente trabajo un gran equipo
canadian muscles right here
Great Video! Thanks.
Amazing video series.
Great music choices man! keep it up
Too much music.
BC Loggers = Badass
You lost me the second the music started ....
Clearcut patches are not a good sign on a hillside, especially.
rick m depends where it’s at. Blanket statements like “your comment sucks” don’t mean a thing
