    You mentioned these were simple to work on I have a271 looks identical to the 261. Had to replace fuel line found it to be tedious to say the least every thing so tight, but got it done. Thank you for your video helped a lot.

    great job thanks, it would have been nice to know that the rings need to be aligned with the dots on the piston, rook me a while to figure that out

      Most the time i just assume people know things like that so that's why i didnt mention it tbh. Thanks tho.

    New Sub, Thanks for this Awesome vid!!!. Just got a 261c that's seen better days...this is helping me refresh it. I have one question: I am using Lucas assembly lube-semi synthetic for rebuild-Do you think this is a good idea? Thanks Again!

      Yeah that certainly can't hurt anything. Good idea to keep things lubed up

    When you rebuild M-Tronics and there's no information and no smoking gun on why it was running too lean, are there liability concerns for a potential send back? The MDG1 device is pretty much out of reach for most back yarders so there's always a question mark on what the microprocessor/solenoid is doing with the carb.

      I usually chalk it up as user error. Especially when 9 out of 10 of the saws I rebuild run just fine once put back together properly. Some.of these people out here just pour a little bit of oil in each tank of fuel. I know that cause several of these guys have fessed that up to me. That and dull chains. I see it all the time

      Ethanol gas is what is killing these saws in many of cases. usually due to fuel separation.

    Hi there do you know if the throttle locks wide open with full choke on this saw? Mine doesn't seem to it's the exact same saw as this one you rebuilt.

    • @jeremythomas9134
      @jeremythomas9134  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not wide open, but it does lock it in quite a bit higher than just idle speed

      @@jeremythomas9134 thank you I got it figured out now. Someone played with all the fuel mixture screws so I got it to where it would run and fine tuned it till it was warm for 5mins then tuned it again. It's good to go after rebuild. Thanks for the video.

    Did it run ok with the pop up piston? I just ordered one from hl supply for a 261c that came cheap because the guy couldn't sharpen his chain lol never seen a bar and chain that had been so roughly treated.didnt want to spend much as I'm not sure what other damage has been done.

      Yes it did, no complaints at all.. I use hyway Pistons quite regularly. Never had one issue outta dozens of em. Nice pistons

      @@jeremythomas9134 That good to hear, did you widen the exhaust or anything or just leave the cylinder stock ?

    • @jeremythomas9134
      @jeremythomas9134  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @williamevans6554 I left this one stock. Just a simple rebuild for a local customer.

      @@jeremythomas9134 do you use the hyway circlips or re use the oem or new oem, I hear lots of different things about this?

    • @jeremythomas9134
      @jeremythomas9134  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @williamevans6554 I typically reuse the oem circlips. That don't always happen, sometimes you'll lose one or whatever the cause may be. I have used the supplied aftermarket clips also though. Both hyway and meteor. Never once had a problem with em man. The main thing with any circlip imo is getting em installed properly and darn sure they're seated properly, without bending em up. I think that's where ppl have issues myself....cause I sure haven't.

    Did you put a cylinder gasket on?

  • @HakonMrland

    Sorry to say, but this was BAD demonstration. Space on table to smal. Aircompressor starting. Use of an old ring for piston pin. Bad preparation. Searching for tools all time.

      I can sincerely recognize that you know jack about building a saw let alone what the parts are even called lol. Way I see it....you're the kinda numbmuts tearing em up and I'm the kinda guy fixing them. '"Sorry to say" but you're outta you're league. Petty too, real petty
