- Paul Dano and Joseph Gordon-Levitt interview each other for Variety’s “Actors on Actors.” This year, both portray real-life legends on screen; Dano plays the young Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys in “Love & Mercy,” while Gordon-Levitt takes on the role of wire-walker Philippe Petit in “The Walk.

Yeah that was a great movie. I'm an actor too and I thought he was awesome in "There will be blood" too. I mean dude went toe2toe with the GOAT Daniel Day-Lewis and his performance still stood out!
Paul is Severely underrated. I'm looking forward to seeing "Swiss Army Man".

Paul Dano is gorgeous
when i can't sleep, i tried a lot of things .... classical music, sounds of nature, chakra cleansing 🙃 blablabla ... but i'm so grateful to have found Paul. since then, i've just put in a long interview with him and i’m already asleep ... he has a sooo calm personality ❤

The first time I saw him was in “There Will Be Blood”, and I was mesmerized at his performance - which is really saying something, when you consider that Daniel Day Lewis was in the lead role.
I remember thinking at the time that Dano was definitely going to be one of those actors who would be set apart from the “typical” crop of dramatic actors, one of those select few who don’t come along everyday... (I felt the same way about Phillip Seymour Hoffman, RIP).
I liked the Love And Mercy movie “okay”... though I felt that the scenes where Dano portrayed the younger Brian were far better than the scenes set in later years with John Cusack portraying the older Brian.
I think it would have been more interesting to use makeup effects to age Paul Dano, than to use a completely different actor to play the older Brian Wilson.

My two favourite actors! Joe the extrovert and Paul the introvert. Different personalities and they have different ways to approach in acting but they seem to get along and share some same values at the core. Love it

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of those celebrities who are down to earth and don't go off making unnecessary scandals like Brad Pitt, Justin Bieber, Eminem and Miley Cyrus
Paul Dano is a superb actor. He is amazing in Swiss army man and everything else I have seen him perform in. One of the best young guys in the business hands down.

I love that despite Paul being far more reserved than Joseph, when he gets to talking about something he is passionate about, he just goes on and on, and you don’t want him to stop.

These guys could be long lost brothers. They are different, but similar, and there is some sort of deep connection they hit here. Pretty rare I would say.
Haven't seen Gordon-Levitt's performance yet, but Dano's absolutely blew me away. He was so immersed in his role.

Two of the smartest and most creative young artists out there right now. I can see how people mistake them as pretentious, as both of them are really enthusiastic and interested in the art they are doing. But I think that is probably part of what makes them great actors.

Great pairing in my opinion. The characters they tend to portray both usually embody this really meticulous balance of naivety and ambition. You can't help but cheer them on while noting they may be biting off more than they can chew. Love it love it love it
