He's not helping you stop him. He would be helping you stay strong as you look for Lor Starcutter parts and venture through Landia's volcano. It would also explain how he suddenly appears after you beat Landia.
I'm going to have to disagree with your explanation about him suddenly appearing, but it would be cool to have Magolor appear in Star Allies. I mean, Marx, did, so why not Magolor?

I LOVE how you threw Sky Waltz in the opening. Nutty Noon is probably my favorite level in any Kirby game.
