- Since MTV's SCREAM will no longer be getting it's continuation, I've decided to begin creating a host of videos to break down, discuss and analyse aspects of the show we didn't really get answered. The story of Brandon James is an interesting one. I decided to take a deep dive into his history and I discovered the show hinted heavily that this character was set up for his dark deeds before the events of Season One. In this video, I discuss who I believe set him up and how it would have impaced future Seasons.

It's not that I didn't enjoy season three, but you've literally touched on EVERY reason why they needed to continue the Lakewood story before moving on to something else.
Can the unmade seasons be made in the future
Season 3 lacked the music of the original Scream films. Also there should be a reason as to why Ghostface is inherently stronger than the in the costume. They receive a lot of punishment but only die when they remove the costume. Even then it requires two shots to the head. Krueger has the same creator so it is not farfetch as such. I mean Scream is not totally dabbled in reality considering the killers can temporary come back.

I agree 100%!! I think it's extremely underrated!! I wasn't as much of a fan of that 3rd season with the New cast and plot, but I found it still watchable. Seasons 1 and 2 tho, phenomenal!! I don't understand why it gets so much hate. And the blood and gore exceeded my expectations. Being an MTV show, I wasn't sure what they could show. Will, Emmas original bf in season 1s death for examplewas brutal and had plenty of Gore!! My man got lit up by a serious stump grinder ! I really hope the rumors of this cast and storyline getting p8cked back up are true because they left it on a cliffhanger and they still have a ton left they could do.
@@scottv9479 I don't think it's the gore that holds this show back. Its the writing. Now, the plot and storylines are very good. But it's so drawn out and badly paced; we get whole episodes where nothing really happens.

I've seriously always wondered if maybe Daisy is the original killer. Her and Brandon were in love, and it hurt her to see him get bullied and mistreated by everyone, so she got revenge on all of his bullies. She never framed him, everybody just assumed Brandon did it. The main clue to support this, during Piper's reveal, she tells Daisy "for 20 years you let everyone think my dad was the monster... but YOU were the monster"... and Daisy admitted "You're right.. but they were my mistakes, not Emma's" ..I always wondered if the meaning behind that exchange of words were deeper than we realized 😳
It's an interesting theory but I just don't see them going that way

Honestly with season 2 it's more likely that Emma's dad framed Brandon
I love Brandon James story line and hate cliff hanger we were left on at end of season 2. Season 3 dropped the ball!

I think they could totally do a prequel, revealing to the audience what actually transpired and lead to seasons 1 & 2
And should the Lakewood story come back
Them revealing the show to be in the same universe as the movies would be a awesome huge twist imo and could fit with the timeline with Brandon backstory predating scream 1 I believe and the show taking place in another town entirely
Kevin's always had that suss look and I'd love this theory. It'd make sense despite the writers said they planned on bringing the real Brandon James back for Season 3 in the original script. But Kevin being the original killer years ago is the perfect twist for this series.

I think Kevin was the actual killer
He was mad at Brandon getting between him and his girlfriend, so he had a psychosis and killed a lot of people
The reason he is alcoholic it's not bc he has a trauma, but he feels a lot of remorse of what he did
I even think he probably has a bipolar personality disorder or st like that
Should the story back back for closure
Then he battles a supernatural Ghostface entity for his atonement. He is about to be killed just as a man, in a hockey mask appears with his trusty machete in hand and harpoon gun on his back, teleports next to them via a strange mist. Another appears, in a black and red striped shirt.

Since I haven't watched the video yet, I'm going on a wild guess and saying that it might be Kevin Duval, because he might have framed Brandon James so Brandon would get arrested and Kevin would have Daisy to himself. He also didn't like when Daisy was talking about Brandon, and he might've felt jealous about Brandon and Daisy's relationship.

I always thought Kevin Duvall was a lot more involved than it was actually explained.

I back this theory and was waiting for the series to be completed for this outcome.
I love the idea that Brandon James was a devil in disguise because it makes him feel like the true ghostface and makes him a mastermind and adds so much meaning to what he said to kieran.
Unless it was Kevin talking to Kieran, with the mask being his cause he used it to kill people
My theory is that it was always his brother Troy. With all the name drops about Troy, yet us never seeing him, I always assumed he would be revealed to be the actual killer
Stavo's father. He was there with Emma's mom when they were with Brandon James after the massacre happened. He planted the weapon there. Kevin was just a red herring.
Random idea I wanna see if y’all could see it happening…. Maybe Kieran wasn’t the killer? I mean before he’s killed he says to his killer “so I kept your word, are you gonna tell me who you are now?” What if there was a little deal Kieran had with this person. He would take the blame to protect the real killers identity.
nah, i think the phone call to kieran at the end of season 2 was the start of this deal they talk about. the phone call didn’t end there, we just didn’t get to see the rest of the conversation i believe. maybe they struck some sort of deal on the phone.
I just watched the first two seasons for the first time and I instantly fell in love with this storyline.
The top 3 guesses I've seen are
Kevin Duval: dude is suspicious of hell and even in the Halloween episode he had this weird vibe after Kieran died. He was abusive and an asshole to his wife. I could definitely believe it's him.
Troy James: he may have been a bit crazy already and maybe he killed people who bullied his brother.
Officer Martinez (forgot his first name): I've always felt something is a little off about him. He was dead set that Gustavo wasn't the killer. Why? Well you could say it's his son he wouldn't wanna believe it. But it could also be because he's the killer so of course he knows his son isn't it.

This is the exact thought I have always held about the TV show story.
Brandon James wasn’t a serial killer though. He was a mass murderer if he did in fact commit the murders. Serial killers don’t normally kill all their victims in one day
Hope get to read this myself and few close friends of mine are doing fan film called Scream Return to Lakewood takes place ten years after the second season ended.

Same! I really wanted a season 3 about Lakewood and the third killer. But instead, we got a season thst have no ties or connections to the first 2 seasons.
@Joshua 1992 I have no clue, but I really didn't like how season 3 was a reboot.
I personally prefer this to Scream 2022 and the current story. MTV's Scream just has more original characters in it than the movie verse and it's much more brutal and a far better story. Emma's been through so much more than Sidney which makes the audience connect with Emma even more. This show deserves a proper closure to it's story.

@@ryansingletary3935 I just personally enjoyed the storyline they had going. Sure it had plot holes like other stories and a few decisions I didn’t agree with but they had something there for sure

yeah i swear i read something online, that third season was supposed to be about this story arc where brandon james killer was guy you said in this video behind one who attacked kieran in season 2 halloween special. Like you said, he was third killer who set brandon james up in one of scripts for planned season 3 but we never got it.
i still want to know who killed kieran, if eli survived and who left that note for maggie. i need closure lol

Did you notice how much different the characters looked after the pilot episode? I feel like they aged and got their looks changed a lot.
Because the pilot was filmed first in Order for it to get the show green lit, even the mask was originally made out of flesh before digitally changed to the surgery mask

Kevin just seems so innocent and weird.. He's too troublesome to be behind it all right? He just seems like a drunk, not a calculated psychopath. And if he is, he would be killing Kieran out of his own lust / since Kieran "stole the mask"... Not because Kieran tortured Emma.
Because if Kevin cared about Emma at all he should've helped more during the new killings. I think he just wanted to kill Kieran to cut ties and keep his legacy hidden or alive. Everything leads to him not caring about his own daughter right?

Facts though. Scream 2022 doesn't even come close. The MTV show had character development and much better writing.

Loved this series 1 & 2 think we need to return to Lakewood,it made itself rather than copying Scream films,the story creates its own!Bring season 3 to finish the story rather than leaving us on edge like they have done!!❤
Was there not a script made for season 3 before it got rebooted?
I think that Daisy was the murderer all along. She knew that Brandon loved her and he wouldn't let Her go to jail. Even if it meant letting everyone believe he was the killer and fake his death. But Daisy didn't want to take a chance that Brandon would be cleared so she agreed to set him up hoping the police would shoot and kill him.

I agree with this. I’m no fan of the show as such, but I definitely thought he was responsible and his involvement in the tv series should have been dealt with better. More missed opportunities.

Kevin's the most lable suspect, during the second season he was acting strange
I honestly don't think it was either kevin, troy, or miguel that framed brandon james for the murders of those 5 students in halloween 1994 because I feel they were just teasing us were you think it's emma's dad but it's not really him because think about at the at the end of season 1 of episode 10 I think they were just setting it up to make it look like that audrey was piper's accomplice but it was really kieran that's established i personally think that the 3rd killer was another female because she loved brandon james and maybe he broke her heart or something for daisy a.k.a maggie and that's what drove her mad and made her kill those 5 students and framed him for it and maybe she influence piper and kieran to kill people caused all of this events in past 2 seasons and I think that's way she killed kieran in the courthouse to get the money that she deserve and maybe she could have been the next jill roberts who wants emma's fame and the fortune
honestly the fans the series could come up with much better and coherent plot than the actual people behind this.

It was Stavo's father. He liked Emma's mother and didn't like the fact she was friendly with Brandon James. It couldn't be Kevin because he was too obvious.
Miguel is my other suspect, but we have more evidence against Kevin

I’ve always been very suspicious of Sheriff Acosta. He oddly left Lakewood after the events of the original killings, and he was close enough in Maggie’s circle of friends that she trusted Miguel to help her aid Brandon after he was shot. I also think it’s odd how obsessed Stavo was with Brandon James and how creepy Stavo was when his friends died from a gunshot. If Miguel was a psychotic killer, it wouldn’t be a huge stretch that his son would have these weird tendencies. Even the fact that Miguel returned to Lakewood as a new series of killings began is very sus.
Miguel left after the original killings because if the cops found out that he and Maggie/Daisy helped Brandon get away after he was shot they both probably would've been put in jail for helping a fugitive escape
I like season 2 better than season 1. Scream season 1 was a little cringy
I still dont think Kieron was a killer, I think he was lying to protect Emma and when he did his part of the deal he was disposed of. And that wouldve been perfect in the actual grand reveal wee never got to find out he was her true love trying to protect her and it would hurt her more that she hated him for what he claimed be did, when it was someone else.

For me, the first two seasons were better than the movies for the most part. For the longest time every scream movie was the same. Sydney, Gail and Dewey would fight a ghostface and they would all live.

I say it is the both of them because they have one thing in common.
Which is that they both hate Brandon.
So I think they orchestrated the deaths of those 5 teens and pinned it on Brendan James.
