I honestly really liked Liv and wished she had survived. She was basically the punching bag for insults from everyone and so when she was killed it was actually really sad. Everyone thought she was the killer until she was killed. She reminded me of Tatum and I wish she had a bigger role in this movie.
i also have a theory that Amber and Richie were going to frame Liv as the second killer, Sam’s partner. I base this theory off of the way that she is killed, a headshot, which we’ve seen for lots of killers in the franchise. Plus Richie made the point of telling Sam “there are always two killers” which is tells us there are 2 killers intended in his “movie” too
That makes sense if you think the only person other than a killer in the franchise to be killed with a headshot is Trevor, another person who was being setup to look like the killer.
I actually wanted Liv to be a killer. It makes more sense to me personally than Ritchie. That monologue Liv gives really made me think she was gonna go for a kill. I mean think about it. The "dumb thotty" girl usually dies fast. She wants to show everyone SHE can kill not be killed. But yeah, they likely were gonna frame Sam and Liv/Mindy. I highly doubt Liv is the "secret third" killer, but she likely knew something the others didn't. Why leave Chad alone bleeding but alive? Why be so ADAMANT she's not the killer specifically to Amber instead the others? Why give that monologue to Mindy anyway? Why does her random ex-boyfriend nobody cares about die? Why does Liv get shot as a surprise instead of Ghost ambushed when anyone else could be shot? I mean her shooting doesn't even match the "requel". Liv's fate is so mysterious.
If Tara was the new lead and not sam, we could've gotten our first female duo.. it would've somehow made sense too if the writers were creative about it.
I think that had they developed the character of Liv more, she would have been a great contribution. I kind of wish she had not been killed. The little that Sonia Ammar had to work with, she did quite well, and being her first movie, I would have liked her to have a chance to develop it more in Scream 6.
She was amazing. Performance wise, below Jenna Ortega and she deserved more from this movie. I'd love to see her involved in a planned Prequel with Vince since she has a history with Vince, a Summer Fling. Oh man, I'd LOVE to see how they formed a relationship and how it ended. More Liv is what I need. And Vince was so interesting. I wanna know what broke him.
Sorry but I LOVED Liv. She's the perfect red herring, she was the link between Stu's nephew and the group. Amber fed a horny Mindy a load of smack talk about Liv, and Min bought it. No hate on Mindy, bc I honestly LOVE the character And actress, I'm just sick of people saying Liv is "not well received and pointless" when other characters already pegged her as one thing. She's clearly Not pointless, she was a family member of a legacy story, she had strong relationships with both the Meeks twins, and she's the most Likeable of the "Gen Z Stereotypes". I feel that if anything is to blame for fans not liking the character its that her best scenes were cut. Not just the bitchy one liners but the bits where we Really SAW Liv. I think she's a great character, underwritten, but I'm a writer so I Can fill in blanks and tell you, this was no rando chicks from 4, Liv is a Tatum/Cici/Jennifer/Kirby just as worthy of fan love.
Ur ability to dig deeper into these movies has always amazed me,, I too thought liv was a pointless character but everything u said here absolutely makes sense
I loved Liv. Deserved a better arc and I was alot more interested in her than the rest of the cast besides Tara and Sam and Richie. She reminded me abit of Beth, kind of this sexy rebel with attitude. I enjoyed her alot more than Mindy, and that scene with her and Mindy with Liv trying to scare her? Her acting was fucking AMAZING. Right below Tara imo. I wish they gave her alot more to work with. The writers of Scream 2022 was so bad, I mean they didn't know how to develop characters like Scream 1-4 did. Liv had a history with Vince Ma-, Schneider too. Why tf you going to drop that but do nothing with that? Uggghhhh. Overall enjoyable movie but lacked so much character development. Sonia deserved more in her very first movie, and the fact that this was her first movie and she's already a much better actress than Melissa says something (No offense to Melissa, because I love her and her Sam character).
Yeah it was really the lack of screen time that made any characters uninteresting, but I did like Liv because she really did seem like the most likely killer to me for a significant portion of the film. This made it ten times more shocking when she dies.
As much as I love scream 2022 and the franchise in general I was expecting adleast Liv to be a Tatum 2.0 and I thought she was gonna have a big chase scene .
Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if they decide to give Sonia another chance. She deserves another chance in a much bigger role. I don't think liv was pointless as she had the most interesting look out of the promos. I was hoping they wouldn't do her dirty but they did. I also wouldn't be mad if they brought her back some how even though that wouldn't make sense and never happen LMAO. Edit: SHe had much more screentime in the early script and they SHOULDVE've gone with it. I also heard that she was the one who owned the macher house and was going to be a killer but they scrapped the idea and went with amber instead
They never said it but I assume Amber and Richie had to be planning to frame a second killer as Sam’s accomplice? Sam has alibis for different attacks and ‘there are always two killers’. Assuming Amber and Richie weren’t going to betray one another, and I don’t think they were, Liv could work as the second killer they were trying to frame for their ‘movie’.
I have this wild theory that Liv could have been the third killer, working with Amber and Richie, and she was just a pawn in their game, and they killed her off so that they would be the only survivors in the end.
I suspected Liv was intended to be the red herring fairly early... And I wondered if the film makers were having a laugh at the audience by actually giving the character red hair...
The biggest issue I had with Scream 2022,was the number of characters that lacked screen time.Hence didn't care about them, when killed. The other ones: Vince,Wes,and Amber was hardly in this,so didn't care when she was revealed as a Ghostface. Also,Chad, who lived was hardly in this.
I think the issue partially stems from Sam being an outsider to this group. If Tara was the lead, we'd probably have gotten way more focus on this new batch of characters but since Sam wasn't part of the friend group, there was this kind of detachment from them that wasn't there with Sidney's friends.
Agreed, the movie was almost two hours but I felt like we didn't know much about everyone. I still have some favorite characters but I still wished we got to know everyone. Amber and Richie were too obvious to me and the trailer didn't help
Exactly. Really my only complaint. Though would've loved if it were 10-15 mins longer for character development for the side characters. By the time we got to the party I forgot all about them since we hadn't seen them for a while.
Rather have Wes/Liv survive than Chad/Mindy imo though I did like Mindy. Just wish we got more of Wes and Liv instead and Vince, I mean he's Stu's nephew. Why connect him to an OG Ghostface killer if you do nothing with it. And Wes, c'mon. He was Tara's Love Interest, you had story there and alot to work with. How tf they gonna ruin that and give the fandom nothing? Me and my friends were so pissed because of the lack of screen time many of these characters had. It got so damn annoying.
I may the minority here, but I like that they didn't develop or flesh out her character a bit. I think that because they kept her sort of mysterious and sort of the outcast of the group, made her seem like a red herring. I think it's a good way to throw audiences off, making them really think about her near the end of the movie, since they know nothing about her.
You put more thought into Liv than the writers did lmao. I personally go with the theory that the writers forgot about Liv and towards the end of the movie were like "Shit! We were supposed to had killed her character off earlier so we're just going to have Amber shot her and call it a day"
That would explain why Amber chose that random moment to reveal she was thé killer, for no logical reason. Oh Well, better not question too much, or we'll be labelled as toxic 🤣
& That was one of the reasons why the movie was complete shit lmaooo.. they were just putting anything in the movie! My Lord the Billy scenes were horrible! It made me cringe so much! Idk it seem forced like they just threw him in there to just throw him in there since in the trailer Dewey said “Something about this.. just feels different” and be like “Yeah Sam’s dad is Billy so we’re gonna show him!” LMAOO

I loved her character. I always thought she was going to be like Cici Cooper or Olivia Morris and have a fantastic demise scene. What makes me sad is how she died. I thought it was very boring and uninteresting. She should had a chase scene. That’s something that IMO was lacking in this movie. Overall love the actress.
I have to say that Liv should have been the Killer with Amber as there was information that made sense for it along with shock factor of us not having a female duo being the killers as well as it going against the repeated ‘love interest’ killer trope or at least directly with main protagonist ( Sam ). Liv was already the newest edition to the group by dating chad and having a friendship with Tara the summer prior ( as mentioned in the movie) this giving Amber and Liv enough time to plan the events after following Stab 8 Flop premiere. Liv was working with Tara able to study her as Amber was already really close friends (gfs as in the first script of scream 2022) and The connection of Liv hooking up with Vince would have added more to his death as they were killing people related to the original killers. Not to mention her surname does match with the neighbors of the Beckors , The Mckenzies and should have made use of that more! That being her grandparents house or parents house which similar to Amber when moving into Stu’s, became obsessed with the tragic backstory behind it. Next part I think would have been good was that she wasn’t even considered in the first place to be a suspect by Mindy to then telling her “I thought you said I was to boring to be the killer” which was her plan to throw them off her scent, then when it was time revealing that she was indeed the killer and actually a super fan of the Stab Franchise along with Amber becoming close friends / conducting this plan together. Though if this had been the case the movie would have been more different, needing Liv to be in it more along with Chad maybe needing to die because it would have been Liv killing him or continue the whole there wasn’t enough time because Sam, Tara, and Richie showed up. Along with when it comes time to reveal and Amber pulls out the gun instead of shooting Liv she shoots Richie instead (Using him as cover up to be one of the killers with Sam, as well as hurt Sam even more by taking away love interest similar to Sidney and Mickey in Scream 2).
I agree, with Liv and amber both being the killer, the movie would have been far more interesting.. especially with having the first female killer duo in all scream franchise
the whole point of Liv was for her to be a red-hearing. even from when she first introduced, when all the kids are outside the school talking, they all walk off without her, and she even says "I'll catch up to you guys later". AND EVEN HOW SHE LOOKS WITH THE PINK HIGHLIGHTS, im convinced they were temped on choosing Red highlights to hence the 'red hearing' title for her, but that would have made it too obvious... It also wouldn't surprise me if there was an alternate ending with her actually being the killer.... but maybe it's my autism that makes me think this way... idk. i'll let you be the judge.
I feel like half her scenes were cut... perhaps they wanted people to assume she was a killer as she stays behind when they all go to see Tara in hospital...
4:04 to be fair it’s kinda hard to be interesting when your tied up and your mouth tape shut. Though surprisingly Steve and Liv had more character then Gale’s boyfriend in 6.
Also her being shot when amber revealed herself was a callback to billy when he shot randy when revealing himself. but amber went for the head so she knew she wouldn’t survive, like randy
no she had more than enough. the character was annoying and u could even tell in the friend group they didnt like her period, they only tolerated her because she was dating the twin brother.
I took her as a foil to the obsessed fan killer character. She was the type of person who can enjoy new content/films that take things in different directions.
Well I was definitely not on board with this when I clicked, but damn you're absolutely right here. The Casey and Steve similarities are glaring obvious after this, thank you so much for this video my friend.
Mindy wasn’t the expert, but despite them going against what they planned, she was accurate in requels of who they wanted to be the killer; Samantha. She’ll be the expert by the next film. Let’s hope she doesn’t die like the other experts
In my head the McKenzie's in the original are her grandparents and her mother or father was a student at Woodsboro High with Sidney and the others. That's her connection to the original and why they bothered to kill her.
Liv in my opinion if she was a survivor wasn't in the sequel, but I think she was the third killer because when she talk to mindy before she get attacked liv said "sometimes the expert too die"
this makes a lot of sense especially since they did the gender swap with the shower scene since typically it’s the female characters taking a shower and having that whole sensual glorifying shower scene but in this movie they switched it to have wes be the character taking a shower and having different sensual shots of him and his body in the shower
I didn't mind the motive, but with all the attacks being linked to the original I thought the film would be much darker in terms of tone. So the toxic fandom reveal felt a little eh to me. They could have done way more with Liv's character (or the rest of them for that matter.)
Hello! Love the Scream content! My favorite franchise in this genre. Subscribed awhile back (your channel/Scream content is the best 👍) love the work you do! I have a question (don't know if this has been done already sorry) would you be able to do a video on which "female" Ghostface was the best? And which "male" Ghostface was the best? I would love to hear your thoughts/interests etc and others! Keep up the awesome work thank you! Edit* I saw your " who do you think is the best Ghostface," video, 👍
Useless is a harsh word underutilized is more fitting. I was thinking this but for Wes’ character. The underdeveloped love interest being killed seems more of Steve Orth or Forest(in the published script).
I’m sorry if people think she was pointless they didn’t pay attention and were just gonna shit on the movie anyway. She was a red herring the whole movie.
Liv had so much potential. She could have had a big chase scene where she ultimately meets her demise or she even could have been the 2nd killer instead of Richie. I feel like this was the perfect chance to finally have 2 females as Ghostface.
Man, I love horror movies and especially the Scream franchise, and your videos that get this deep are awesome. Great work that continues to get better.
i just wanna know if she cheated on Chad with Vince. At the park we see Vince and the group goes to leave but she makes an excuse to stay behind and nothing ever comes of it.
I don't think Liv's death was really planned aside from Amber and Richie wanting to kill everyone in the house. Liv was only killed first (and ultimately last) because Amber was annoyed by her and wanted to get on with the reveal.
" most pointless character in the scream franchise " Himbry, Joel, Phil, Maureen, CiCi, The two cops, Derek, mickey, Christine, Sarah, Tom, Tyson, John, Angelina, Steven, Trudie, Sherrie, Rachel, Jenny, Marnie, Officer Hoss, Officer Perkins, Kate, Olivia & Trevor. Pretty much the most useless characters
Scream seri tv is my favorite series!! Please tell me if there will be a season 4 or a sequel but a sequel to the adventure of emma, brooke and audrey??? 😓
I wish they had gone with killing Mindy off like how Liv gave that little monologue of the brainiac gets their day etc. would have definitely been interesting with how Liv said that then Mindy ‘turns up dead’ like a who actually did it? Was it Liv? Was it Amber? Was it Richie? I feel like Liv’s character was a bit robbed. So was Wes’s character.
I think her line "I'm not A killer" could hint that she might have been a third helping or Richie and amber but not actually killing anyone.... the time line would be a lot cleaner in the beginning with liv and amber in the first attack leaving Richie in Modesto.... she could have been the one who filmed amber..... her as a third killer makes scene also again with time lines in the third act and an argument could be made that she was the one who killed Dewey since her height and stature would make more sense than amber..... but that's all speculation unless they retcon it in by like he parents finding her diary admitting to it all or something like that
I would've loved to see more of liv in scream 6, i think they could do so much more with her, it's a shame that she died. Although I understand that in this movie, she was quite pointless.
Did the movie really have character development for anyone?… all they did was make everyone a Randy and make it so aside from Sam (kinda, she was annoying at times) and Tara it really didn’t matter who died… well, except for the legacy characters who have had 4 movies to develop an actual character. Obviously after 4 movies you don’t want them to die!.. but admittedly it made sense to off one. I’m just sad who they choose. 😢
Liv didn't live 🤯 In scream 4 they spoke on how the hot girl is always found savagely butchered yet she was taken out with a bullet to the head probably the most tame of all the kills
I think one of the reasons Amber and Richie decided to kill her was *because* she liked Stab 8.
Lol 😂 That’s true!!

the whole point of Liv was for her to be a red-hearing. even from when she first introduced, when all the kids are outside the school talking, they all walk off without her, and she even says "I'll catch up to you guys later".
You right
The way most of her scenes are deleted scenes😭
I feel like half her scenes were cut... perhaps they wanted people to assume she was a killer as she stays behind when they all go to see Tara in hospital...
Liv was my favorite scream 22' character
Me too
4:04 to be fair it’s kinda hard to be interesting when your tied up and your mouth tape shut. Though surprisingly Steve and Liv had more character then Gale’s boyfriend in 6.
#justiceforliv
She was my fav scream 2022 character
Well now I kinda respect Liv McKenzie. I even missed the Chad/Casey stuff. Damn, I just love this channel.
Also her being shot when amber revealed herself was a callback to billy when he shot randy when revealing himself. but amber went for the head so she knew she wouldn’t survive, like randy
The fact that this video is longer then her screen time
I really liked Liv, just wish she had more screen time
no she had more than enough. the character was annoying and u could even tell in the friend group they didnt like her period, they only tolerated her because she was dating the twin brother.
When liv say she not killer she has admit it
I took her as a foil to the obsessed fan killer character. She was the type of person who can enjoy new content/films that take things in different directions.
She is rly just a fucking background character at best. She was so bland I was actually yelling “YES” when amber shot her
I‘m just a bit mad they fucked up her death scene, pay attention to her hair and face and you could actually see it coming.
Well I was definitely not on board with this when I clicked, but damn you're absolutely right here. The Casey and Steve similarities are glaring obvious after this, thank you so much for this video my friend.
They should've given her the garage scene imo lol
Mindy wasn’t the expert, but despite them going against what they planned, she was accurate in requels of who they wanted to be the killer; Samantha. She’ll be the expert by the next film. Let’s hope she doesn’t die like the other experts
In my head the McKenzie's in the original are her grandparents and her mother or father was a student at Woodsboro High with Sidney and the others. That's her connection to the original and why they bothered to kill her.
i like the parallels between LIv and the first scream...it makes some sense now...
Also Casey was an ex of Stu and Liv was an ex of Stu's nephew Vince
Liv in my opinion if she was a survivor wasn't in the sequel, but I think she was the third killer because when she talk to mindy before she get attacked liv said "sometimes the expert too die"
Maybe
🥱
this makes a lot of sense especially since they did the gender swap with the shower scene since typically it’s the female characters taking a shower and having that whole sensual glorifying shower scene but in this movie they switched it to have wes be the character taking a shower and having different sensual shots of him and his body in the shower
She died because everyone was going to be killed and not because she is ghostface, SHE IS NOT GHOSTFACE, Liv's a red herring, it's Chad.
Where did u find that high school pitchure
liv was my favorite
Me too
I loved her character
And he died on the side of the house too! Wow. I didn’t think of that.
I think Liv kind represents the outsider girlfriend. You know that doesn't really fit in.
She was my fave in the movie
Me too
@@Logan-dn6uv yaaaaaas 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@@susanstorm7910 ❤❤❤
@@Logan-dn6uv she is soooo mf pretty omg
@@susanstorm7910 i love her hair❤❤
Liv was a red herring. I would have liked more reference in this movie to her being a McKenzie also.
I’m sorry if people think she was pointless they didn’t pay attention and were just gonna shit on the movie anyway. She was a red herring the whole movie.
Right
Huh? I don’t see any parallels to Casey and Steve?
Wow love this. I LOVE EVERY CHARACTER OF SCREAM 2022
Kinda felt bad for Liv
Liv had so much potential. She could have had a big chase scene where she ultimately meets her demise or she even could have been the 2nd killer instead of Richie. I feel like this was the perfect chance to finally have 2 females as Ghostface.
Yep❤❤
Man, I love horror movies and especially the Scream franchise, and your videos that get this deep are awesome. Great work that continues to get better.
Honestly I wish Vince was the one who attacked Chad in Scream 5
Me to
i just wanna know if she cheated on Chad with Vince. At the park we see Vince and the group goes to leave but she makes an excuse to stay behind and nothing ever comes of it.
I heard that the killers where in the original script was Amber,Mindy,Liv they all had different scripts different endings that they filmed.
awww I would have loved those 3 as the killers 😭😭3 female killers would be awesome and unique to the franchise, even if it would piss some men off
@@jaydonarchuleta5691 yeah that what Melissa and the rest of crew said it was different killers different script different endings.
I don't think Liv's death was really planned aside from Amber and Richie wanting to kill everyone in the house. Liv was only killed first (and ultimately last) because Amber was annoyed by her and wanted to get on with the reveal.
I woulda been cool with her being the 3rd killer because she had many sus moments that led nowhere
Perhaps Stu didn’t like the Mackenzie’s… (they were the Becker’s neighbor)
Respectfully disagree. This movie had lazy writing and under developed characters. No Point in making excuses for that.
I wish they had developed her character... They could've done so much to make her the perfect red-herring or even a third killer.
Yep
I don't get why she stormed off and was absent when chad was stabbed where the fuck she was like seriously
Liv annoyed me the end of the movie she seemed kinda like a spoiled brat I’m just wanting to know who Sam and Taras mom is
How did she come across as a spoiled brat?
She was in the wrong place at the wrong time 😂🤷🏽♂️ shouldn’t of ran back in the house.
" most pointless character in the scream franchise "
Himbry, Joel, Phil, Maureen, CiCi, The two cops, Derek, mickey, Christine, Sarah, Tom, Tyson, John, Angelina, Steven, Trudie, Sherrie, Rachel, Jenny, Marnie, Officer Hoss, Officer Perkins, Kate, Olivia & Trevor. Pretty much the most useless characters
Maureen isnt useless she had an important role in scream 1 and 3
@@kore2202 Maureen from scream 2
Scream seri tv is my favorite series!! Please tell me if there will be a season 4 or a sequel but a sequel to the adventure of emma, brooke and audrey??? 😓
I love her❤❤❤
i don't think that's entirely fair; if anything, i'd argue vince was more pointless than her
Could you add subtitles for your videos please? I have a deafness problem and I can't hear what you say well
girl looks like Bella Thorne lol.
Yep
I love when u dive deeper into these movies.. . Im telling u plz plz do a video on Vince/Stu/Leslie Macher new Scream 6 killer idea plzzzzz
interesting this video needs to be made. i got her the first time
I’m not gonna lie I was sad that liv died she deserve better I wish I had a girlfriend like her
When the intro is half the video
I love it! 😄
I feel like liv came off as a psycho
Yep
ngl most of the new cast felt pointless
I wish they had gone with killing Mindy off like how Liv gave that little monologue of the brainiac gets their day etc. would have definitely been interesting with how Liv said that then Mindy ‘turns up dead’ like a who actually did it? Was it Liv? Was it Amber? Was it Richie? I feel like Liv’s character was a bit robbed. So was Wes’s character.
Why was the intro scary?
I think her line "I'm not A killer" could hint that she might have been a third helping or Richie and amber but not actually killing anyone.... the time line would be a lot cleaner in the beginning with liv and amber in the first attack leaving Richie in Modesto.... she could have been the one who filmed amber..... her as a third killer makes scene also again with time lines in the third act and an argument could be made that she was the one who killed Dewey since her height and stature would make more sense than amber..... but that's all speculation unless they retcon it in by like he parents finding her diary admitting to it all or something like that
that's a possibility !
Wow, that fits so freaking perfectly! 🔪😱
I'm hooked on this channel, it's awesome.
So is Liv Mickenzie related to the MCKENZIES???
Yep
Thought she was Olivia 💀
Me too, she has that girly, bitchy vibe. Just like Tatum and Olivia.
Bang on the money with this 😃💞
Liv didn't live 🤯 In scream 4 they spoke on how the hot girl is always found savagely butchered yet she was taken out with a bullet to the head probably the most tame of all the kills
I liked your thoughts on this!
Maybe Liv was the 3rd killer but richie and amber were done using her so they killed her but I kinda liked her
They killed her because she was at the house.
