Tougher schedule to start can be good or bad. Nobody is intentionally tanking before 2025. They may do better than expected. Most teams, especially the 'better' ones aren't necessarily giving their all right away. Conversely, the younger teams are still gelling, but also wanting to prove themselves.
Let this team cook. See what they can do. Don't manipulate matchups to actively tank. Win and lose on one's own merit. Let the cards fall where they may.
Even if there is an extended tough stretch earlier on, it would be interesting to see how the last half of the season goes against the 'easier' schedule and against teams who have actively given up. While hopefully growing in the chemistry and fit department.
Let the roster work it out. Being a late lottery team (with a chance to move up) isn't bad, and being a play-in first round exit isn't bad either. Of course there should likely be some tweaks along the way, but don't sell just to intentionally tank. They're bad enough to be bad-ish, and at the same time potentially good enough to be decent. I, personally would like to see it happen on the court, more than from the office.

I think we just need to chill out and have a season of development over grinding out wins. If some injuries happen and we get a low seed, so be it. If we finish late lottery and we had a solid year that maintains health of our guys (not playing them 42 mins a game to get some wins) I also call that a win. Can make moves later, we aren't in some big rush right now to go get a Brandon Ingram for instance like so many believe we are. To me that just ruins this team and its future. Everyone just needs to be patient and let this team work and let Darko devlop these guys. Maybe Darko himself grows as a coach and proves he can do more than just develop too. Use our tanked pick and then use Portland’s second and Indy’s 2016 to trade back into the 2025 mid to late first round to add to BBQ to make your future starting 5. In 2024 we drafted lots of future role players with Gradey. Develop them and get more talent in 2025 draft. You might not have to move JP as he will be in 5 years the same age as Marc G was in 2019. Now you cannot have top 5 at every position, your team would cost you 300 mil with cheap role players so considering that plus the fact that we can't just go and grab Wemby, Chet, Embiid or Jokic.. unless I missed something? Even every one want Claxton, Claxton can't handle the true bigs at all and can't actually shoot 3s so even he was more of a side trade. The most important thing a big can do is be an anchor, which is definitely Poetls best skill. Thr alternative is a Kelly Olynyk type who just gets torched all game and the opposing team just having lay up lines out there. Sure he can shoot, but at what cost? Plus every game Yak plays, he plays great and we actually have a good record with him on the court.. he fits the Raptors. To me, he is the perfect fit for right now. Solid guy with good IQ that can help the youngins grow and be a competent team while bringing in a young guy to learn from him. Masai 100% views it this way too.. its what he tried to do with Koloko and its what he trying to do with Comche. Thats our root to a good Center who fits the timeline better.. its not to complain about a homegrown guy who is actually a championship type of center on the right team. Yea I hear you, free throws but again, good Centers don't fall off of trees and he is an elite anchor. Flank him with good forwards and guards you 100% have a team. I guess my point is, instead of hating on the guy, lets apreciate what we got and continue to build forward.. not dwell on something we can't change overnight.
