The Raptors have a tough decision to make for the final roster spot. If they desperately need a back-up center, then Bruno will likely get it. But if they're basing it off from preseason play, then Battle deserves the final spot. You can never have too many shooters in Darko's 0.5 offense.

MOGBO makes our 31st pick with what was available look really bad. He is not good and will need to go to the G league.
It is just a preseason game but we are showing signs of becoming better and actually being able to win games against good teams. Hopefully we can do this in the regular season tho.
The surprising stat was the amount of minutes that Boston played 4 of their main starters and how hard they were trying to win as they went down by 20. Gradey Dick was being defended by tatum and burnt him 5 times🤣🤣
I was at this game. Dick looked really good and Barnes was going completely ape shit on defence it was crazy the effort he was putting in on that end. Also the Raptors bench is atrociously bad
To be fair, the non-guaranteed guys and rookies were kept in down the stretch and rose to the occasion to hold out for the win. Darko kept them in to see what they could do, instead of putting Scottie, Yak, Gradey back in to try to ensure a win. They did alright under the pressure and it helps the front office narrow down some decisions. The win felt sweeter, too. Great for vibes. (Not that I disagree the bench has a number of question marks.) Would be nice to have Walter in there. Shead is effective and smart without having a shot yet, Mogbo maps the floor well and can play some center along with Kelly, it's not bad with two guys that can spot the 4-5 together. Brown can be a piece. There's still Boucher who's decent. Run a combo of those guys with a Scottie and IQ, Gradey..It's not the worst look tbh.
I don't fully understand who has to be on the roster to start the season, particularly when you get way down the bench (spots 12-15). I'd rather see Shead start in the 905 to get some playing time, maybe even Mogbo too as he doesn't look NBA ready. Carlson and Battle have been looking solid and I hope we can keep both. Scottie is expected. Grady is the surprise. This time last year we thought we had a JJ reddick type that would need a little time. 1 year later - we see he’s actually a Gordon Hayward type that needs about the same amount of time - and was a draft steal. I’m not sold on Mogbo he’s a 3 and D sized player with active hands and motor. You can’t develop height and size and he’s too small to be a credible big man. But he can probably be a PJ Tucker type in time. On the 2nd unit that’s of value because Olynk from a night to night basis is going to be the 6th man. So there’s minutes to be had and lockdown moments he’s needed once he becomes reliable. Ochai we can see / Jacoby we have to rely on old footage as he’s out - look like they can develop into Demar types. They need time though. And the 2nd unit will have that for both of them with Mitchell keeping them steady.
