West Glacier National Park Tour

Hey everyone! Today, I'm taking you on a breathtaking adventure to Glacier National Park in Montana. I'm combining the best of both worlds: camping under the stars and exploring the park's iconic landscapes on a classic red bus tour.
Let's dive in! First up, I was hoping to organise a campsite in the heart of Glacier. However, bookings are typically 6 months in advance, so it's off to the bush. Lucky for me, I did find a two day cancellation in a days’ time so a nearby BLM would be fine and, no cost for that accommodation.
There's nothing quite like the peace and tranquility of the wilderness. Tonight, I'm stargazing, roasting marshmallows, and listening to the sounds of nature. Not quite true, bears are about, so I opted for starting the generator to heat up the RV like a little log cabin, tomorrow in the daylight seems a safer option to explore.
Red Bus Tour : The next day, once ensconsed in my new camp at Avalanche campsite, I motored over to Lake Mc Donald Lodge hopping onboard a 1930's classic red bus for a tour of the park. These buses are iconic to Glacier, and they offer a unique way to experience the park's beauty. We stopped at some of the most famous spots, like Going-to-the-Sun Road, Logan Pass and the Weeping Wall. The views are breath-taking and I am so glad I did not attempt to drive my RV up the very narrow and at times, terrifying road!
Hiking : I found time to take a hike to Lake Avalanche, a two and a half mile jaunt each way, a bit of a climb up, but a leisurely stroll on the way back, well worth it.
Well, that's my West Glacier National Park adventure in a nutshell. Camping and hiking in the forest and a red bus tour on the road-to-the-sun, a perfect combination for exploring this amazing park.
