I have been riding XC on a marlin 5 for a year and a half do you think it would be worth it to upgrade, I have been thinking about the x-caliber series (I’m a trek fanboy) which x-caliber bike should I get if I should upgrade?
Nice!! I think you'd definitely appreciate the upgrade to an X-Caliber since they have some really nice part specs and are fast. They do feel similar to the marlins because the frame geometry is very similar, but all the components will just be more reliable, smoother, faster, and will last longer. I think the 8 or 9 are the ones to go for since the x-cal 7 is pretty similar to the marlin 7 this year.
So I have watched majority of your videos, and I am not sure which one to pick. I like FX 2 DISC and dual sport 2 bcz if their prices, and I see that the FX 3 Disc and dual sport 3 have higger quality parts. Since my goal is to exercise a little since gyms are closed and maybe use the bike on a trainer. Which bike I can choose without regretting it later on? Thank you.
The FX 3 and DS 3 are both really popular bikes that are made really well. I’d definitely pick one of the 3 models over the DS 2 or FX 2 since after building a lot of them I’ve noticed that some components aren’t as nice as they should/could be. The FX 3 is a great bike for fitness purposes and road riding as well as some light trails. Get the dual sport if you want to go on trails more often, but the FX is a faster bike.
Thanks!! I’ve made a few videos on the roscoes, but our Trek store usually doesn’t get Roscoe 8s for some reason, though I have seen some customer bikes here and there. I’ll do one if I find one though!
Another GREAT video.. I’ll be picking up my 2021 Roscoe 6 next week (Hopefully) from Trek Williamsburg, VA. REQUEST: Could you video “You Building out a Roscoe 6”? Would really appreciate it, if at all possible, Thanks!
Talalipop, when riding the Supercaliber how did the rear shock feel compaird to the Fuel EX 8? When going over bumps do you feel it much as compared to 100mm travel rear? I'm debating between the Supercaliber and Top Fuel.
I have a question for you If I had an high budget and all the components, except for the frame: what's better the procaliber sl ~1kg lighter or supercaliber with rear suspension?
Considering it’s the least expensive full suspension mountain bike that Trek offers, yes. But based on the components on it, I’d say it’s completely fine for an intermediate rider as well.
11.8 kg is still not a bad number for a mountain bike, so it’s still going to be fast and pretty stiff with the carbon fiber frame. I don’t think it should feel too heavy compared to a lot of other mountain bikes.
@@saveusm1saki726 That’s pretty light for sure, but if they’re considering buying a 9kg bike, weight is probably a big consideration. Shaving grams is what XC racers are aiming for, taking a whole 2 kilograms off is huge. You could easily knock a minute or two off your race time.
Yeah definitely! It’s based off of the serial number of the Trek bike. That’s also how you can check for authenticity probably, though I’m not completely sure about that part.
To be honest i lost the love to trek bikes it was a legend to me but now it is a peice of s*it others give a lot more than this company so bye bye trek 😞😞😞😞😟😌😌😌
you do a wonderful job explaining everything about Trek bikes. Keep up the great videos. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much!!
Like I told you
In your last video. The supercaliber is a dream bike. Wow!!
Definitely!

Like your videos! Can you make video about Xcaliper lineup?
Already have! I compared the 2021 X-Calibers a few months ago :)
Trek bikes just look sooooo good 👌
Definitely :)
Hey! Great channel! You should review a Trek Roscoe 8! I just got one.
Thanks!! I’ve made a few videos on the roscoes, but our Trek store usually doesn’t get Roscoe 8s for some reason, though I have seen some customer bikes here and there. I’ll do one if I find one though!

So can I upgrade my marlin 6 to a 2.4 tire? Great video dude!
Definitely! You might not have as much clearance for mud if you ride in those conditions as often, but it will definitely fit and should be fine.
@@TalalipopMTB any tire suggestions? I'm looking at maxxis tires but there's just so many options which got me confused
Arghh. Been waiting to get a ProCaliber. None available in my area. Tried to order but my local shop is not sure when they will get more in.
Thanks man! Shimano gears so much smother than SRAM. 👍😁

Ordered a ProCal9.6 XXL at local shop in Orlando. Fall delivery. You seeing the same ship times?
Very informative
Thanks!!
hey also you should do a progression video where you learn to wheelie it would be a cool idea
Could you do a video on the 2021 Trek FX4 please
I’ve made a full video on that bike on my channel, but I’ll make an in person video if we get one in stock!
I actually just got the service bike but took off the kickstand and rack and it is actually a very capable bike on rocky trails
look the same as marlin 5 with better forks and gearing
@@sdqsdq6274 basically and i think a better frame
Yeah! It’s an x-caliber so it’s definitely very capable on actual trails.
I have a question for you
If I had an high budget and all the components, except for the frame: what's better the procaliber sl ~1kg lighter or supercaliber with rear suspension?
@ETfonehome42 nevermind i want an enduro
I had a pair of 2.4” maxxis dhr2 on my marlin 5 helps tonnes
What tires did you run? I'm looking to upgrade to larger tires
Nice!! Good to know those work
Do you consider the trek fuel ex 5 a beginner full suspension mountain bike?
Considering it’s the least expensive full suspension mountain bike that Trek offers, yes. But based on the components on it, I’d say it’s completely fine for an intermediate rider as well.
I'm planning to buy pro caliber 9.5 but its 11.8kg compared to the 9kg 9.7 version.
Do you think it's gonna be harder or much heavier?
11.8 kg is still not a bad number for a mountain bike, so it’s still going to be fast and pretty stiff with the carbon fiber frame. I don’t think it should feel too heavy compared to a lot of other mountain bikes.
That 3kg will definitely be very noticeable. It’s just a question of whether the benefit is worth the cost for you.
@@MaplePanda04 it’s actually just 2kg difference including the increments. Do you think a 11.80kg hardtail mtb xc is a heavy bike?
@@saveusm1saki726 That’s pretty light for sure, but if they’re considering buying a 9kg bike, weight is probably a big consideration. Shaving grams is what XC racers are aiming for, taking a whole 2 kilograms off is huge. You could easily knock a minute or two off your race time.
got a question , if purchase from a non distributor of trek , can the bike be register with trek for warranty , also how to check for authenticity ?
Yeah definitely! It’s based off of the serial number of the Trek bike. That’s also how you can check for authenticity probably, though I’m not completely sure about that part.

:D
Please make on X CALIBER 9 2020 and 2021
There are no differences between those bikes actually!
I have the Trek police bike. I love it

I have a 2020 Trek Marlin 5 currently; I would have a lot more but everything my bikes have been on backorder for months ;(

please do a supercaliber review
Still waiting for 2021 xcaliber.
Hope you will.
The service bike is as close as I’ve gotten for now; we actually haven’t had a new X-Caliber in the store for almost 4 months surprisingly!
Exactly, ordered mine in sept and delivery is due jan.
Might be in huge demand as of the budget. For those who cant afford pro and super cal 😁
@@pinder3336 Yeah they are pretty nice bikes for people that can spend a little more than on the marlins as well.
Supercaliber 9.7 someday ❤️
I have a 9.8 and this thing is a dream. Worth saving for. Trust me.
steal one if you gotta wait 2 years 🤣
