    Every birth story is a story of miracle. It should be a "rebirth" day for us moms too everytime we give birth to our kids... as an old saying goes, giving birth is putting one foot in the grave.

    In 2018 all i did was cry in our altar and prayed the novena because my son had an abnormality seen in his Congenital Anomaly Scan ( Trisomy 21) was devastated and told God that He is greater than all of this please heal my baby,i was on my 2nd trimester. During my labor my sons heart rate decelerated and my BP was shooting up. I was rushed to OR for Emergency CS. Then i heard him cry and the OB saying “ wala naman siyang Down” and the pedia showed me my baby saying “ wala akong makitang Down na features” i cried furiously thanking God that he listened to my prayers. With God nothing is impossible. BTW you and Dan helped me during my pregnancy mawala yung mga iniisip ko tungkol sa Trisomy 21. Maraming Salamat and I’m so happy that Isla is with you now. More blessings to your family

    We really have the same experience,may hubby was in panic when he heard that our baby has lost her heartbeats. My hear rate went crazy when she born she not crying it took 10 mins - 30mins. before she cried.. now she is 15.. prayer is my only remedy.. and thank you God.. i surpass that normal delivery...

    I am a miracle baby, pinanganak ako ng 6 1/2months only and pag labas ko daw I am not crying for a couple of minutes also, halos 2months daw ako nasa incubator. But my mom and dad are so brave and everytime na naalala ko yung story nila I feel so blessed to have them as my parents, greatest blessing sila ng Lord to me. • @wendyaquino4503
    @wendyaquino4503 3 ปีที่แล้ว +89

    I am so sorry for your experience Ate Rhaze. I just want to acknowledge that all women are different and every pregnancy is unique. Personally as a student midwife here in Melbourne who has been on a birth suite placement, I know that midwives should have asked you at the start of their shifts what your birth plan is which includes your pain management. We aren’t encouraged to straight up ask if you would like a certain type of pain relief whether it’d be the gas or morphine or the epidural, but we can recommend it when we think you are not coping with the pain and all non-pharmacological managements have been attempted. In regards to your epidural, they should have done a vaginal exam before giving you the epidural. I’m not sure if it was a hospital protocol but in the hospitals ive been placed, midwives will not encourage an epidural if you are close to being fully dilated because the epidural can possibly slow down your progress and if you are already close to pushing, which was the case then the epidural wouldn’t be needed because Isla was coming soon. Of course, this could be a case-to-case basis as well, whether the woman could really no longer tolerate the pain and it would be the best intervention for the woman and baby. Before you are fully dilated, midwives would not encourage to push because the baby does not have a safe and ready passage to pass through and when you push, it stresses the baby therefore you probably would have noticed the loss of contact with the fetal heart rate or it being elevated. When you are actively pushing and fully dilated, that’s when the concern for your vaginal-rectal tear comes in. It’s best to push as hard as you can at the peak of your contractions or when it has built up instead of right at the start, and as soon as the baby’s head is delivered, take it slow and just puff small breaths out. It’s not a very big concern that the baby doesn’t cry upon delivery especially if your entire pregnancy had no complications. There are ways that midwives determine whether the baby is in need of resuscitation or not (check out APGARS). We always check if the baby is breathing upon delivery, central body parts are pinkish and then rub to warm them up and place them on mum for skin-to-skin contact. When a baby has a mucousy mouth and can be heard through its breathing, we always recommend breastfeeding first and switch to suctioning if mum’s milk supply has not come through.
    You are so brave and you are going to be an amazing mom to Isla and your future babies. God bless!

    wala talagang pattern ang pregnancy.. even if one is all good on tests and pregnancy, the delivery varies and all with God's mercy.. i was hypertensive and preeclampsia during pregnancy and i will always inquire for CS cost, blood also went out first on me but with God's mercy i was able to deliver via a 5-hour induced labor semi painless normal delivery. also we appreciate more our mothers what they also went through for us. Keep it up rhaze you are a very good first time mom Godbless you.

You're really an exception♥ Can't still believe that Isla is now in this world, I can still remember the time i'm praying to God to gift you a baby and now she's here, in your arms♥

    Aww sorry to heard this I also have a bad birth experience here in australia! We’re Filipina and we’re a brave mama 💪🏻 atleast Isla is healthy baby just focus your energy to your little one and don’t dwell into it. After a year you’ll cry again trust me! You’ll remember that happened on Isla’s first birthday anyway godbless and enjoy while she’s tiny 💕 enjoy the tiniest moment with her cause time flies so fast
